Lower versus Longer

We all know that lower and longer (and lighter) make you go quicker.

What I want to know is this: is lowering the bike an inch in the front and an inch in the back give you the same anti-wheelie effect as lengthing the wheelbase 2 inches, 4 inches, or what?

Lowering the bike 2 inches front and back is the same as how many more inches of wheelbase?

Best wishes,
Dave

I don't think there is any consistent formula, but I would say get as low as possible and as long as you are comfortable with. Longer than 8-10 over and traction becomes an issue without a slick or a well prepped track. IMHO, slam it stock wheelbase until you can't get any more ET out of it, then add wheelbase. It's worth it to get a cut oilpan and sidewinder if you are serious, you will need it eventually if you want to go fast. -Dean
