Helmets
Hey guys, wanted to let you know about a new helmet out there.
Scorpion helmets. I just used my new one this weekend at the track, I cant make the shield fog. No more holding your breath on the line. VERY nice for the price.

I have the tribal in silver. Last time I wore a lid this nice, I paid over 450 for it...............

If an arai fits you, you will like them. I have always used AGV xvents, but I love this thing......., Price is lower, because they are built here, all of it. Very good quality. Rickey Gadson and Stotz are wearing them too I believe...........
You should definitly check them out if you are in the market for a new lid. I can concentrate on the tree instead of holding my breath. Heck, I was even talkin to people with the visor down for effect, and sweating like a race horse this Sunday........., lost 4 pounds........

Leave your shield open about 1/16th to 1/8th inch when you are at the strip. No more fogging problems...You really hold your breath at the line???

I don't get any wind in my shield at 150+ with my shield cracked open. Guys that are going a lot faster than me do the same thing with no problems. Jason Miller does the same thing and he is running 190 in the quarter.
You shouldn't get any wind in your helmet either if your head is behind the screen.

My head is, but I have tried it, and it dries out my freakin contacts..............., I know that sounds freakin silly...........
Maybe I dont blink or something............, either way, what I was doing was working, and the new helmet works like a charm, even shut tight.................
Thanks for the tips though..................

I forgot to mention, these helmets have a patented coating on the shields that keeps them from fogging........, it is permanent...............

nope, tried them and no go. most of arai's stuff doesnt even fit me. only ones that did fir are my old NR3 and the Astral-X i just bought. i tried on every single helmet at laguna seca last year, i kid you not. the astral was the ONLY helmet with an acceptable fit. yes, i have an odd head (in more ways than one). of course its quite possible i'm overly picky on helmet fit, but after the disastrous experience i've had with a previous helmet, i aint taking no chances. first helmet gave me a pounding headache in less than an hour. moreover, i am not willing to go the obvious route of buying a helmet a size too large so that it does fit, cause that really doesnt fit. a sloppy helmet aint gonna protect you properly when you crash.

If you have a dealer near you, try one on. I really like the fit........, but everyone has a different fit............, its worse than shoes........
