as you get better, you will learn to keep the throttle pegged as you feed out the clutch, when the front end comes up, slip the clutch some more...
DO NOT SNAP IT THOUGH.
Slip it in and out controlling the amont of power to the ground with the clutch.

Used to race motoX and long time trick.

Professional motocross racers will keep the bike on the pipe and control traction and wheelies with the clutch.
If you watched bubba, and ricky carmichel race and listen closely ( on the 2 strokes)you could hear the bike revved out almost entire track, and the clutch is used to control the bike!

The newer 4 strokes generate too much heat and torque (except for Honda's... tranny and engine oil are the same so the clutches can't handle the abuse) but the 4 strokes have much wider torque curves, allowing revs to modulate with throttle more.

The chain is a little short , it does not allow the rear axle to be moved to the back of the swingarm.
A longer chain will allow the weelbase to be stretched to the end of the swingarm.
For every inch of wheelbase approximately 1/10th second can be reduced off your 1/4 mile.ET.

Besides controlling the bike with the clutch more, stretch and slam the biotch!

If you have seen the LV vid of Schnitz burning a 9.17/ 152 mph pass, listen to the revs.
Staging the bike seems to be reving about 6000 rpm, when the light turns he brings the revs up , and keeps them there, as the front starts to lift the clutch is slipped, reducing the power to the ground momentarilly, and allowing the front tire to stay planted.

just remember not to dump the clutch or it can loop out!
Also preload the drivetrain, to the point the bike begins to creep, keep the clutch slightly loaded, this will help prevent tire spin and wheelie off the line, as the slack is taken out of the chain and the rear suspension is loaded already.

Even pro's like Brock have issues launching this bike without strapping it so......

I'm just an ameteur, so others may have some additional advise!

enjoy the bike and grow with it.
It will come with practice, don't ride over your head !

I also had a had time lauching my zx14 ..But i did get a 1.60 and a 1.64 with a few tries .. Try setting your clutch lever to number one spot ..That helped me slip the clutch a bit more beacuse it releases at the very end of the travel...I have a zrx1200 that i race and the bike has so much low end tork i don't have to slide the clutch at all...I just toss the lever out at 4000 RPMs and hang on ( 1.42 60 footers) The zx14 is totaly different critter....Release the clutch before 4000 and it's going to bog and then when it hits the power band it going to wheely....To get a fair run i was slipping the clutch till the 330 mark....Just keep trying you will get it with seat time .....You also may try a 16 tooth front sprocket, i'm going to get a 16 tooth a shot next time out ...good luck ... somkin....

"bike has so much low end tork i don't have to slide the clutch at all...I just toss the lever out at 4000 RPMs and hang on"

That statement makes no sense at all...

My bike only makes 110lb-ft of TQ at 3K and it would flip doing that....

Well my zrx1200 was about 80 foot pounds at 5000 and it seems to work for me ...The clutch is out before i get to the tree and the throttle is pinned....If i do that to my zx14 it will just bog till it hits 5000....Maybe i'm doing something wrong on my zrx1200 but 1.42 avg 60 footers it seems to work..

Hope I helped... BTW increase the rebound damping in the rear at the track particularly if its a little bumpy, and try 32 psi!

Let us know how it goes!

dont pretend to know more about your bike than someone who has never seen you, it, you race anything, or know anything about you.

Thats just absurd!

your car is slow
Who are you replying to?

I always start testing with my tire pressure around 30 -34 psi, then try a 5 psi increase, if my traction is still good off the line I will keep increasing pressure, if traction get worse I start dropping pressure.

where was your positive contribution?
You got some good advise you don't want to share?
