tank draining hardware: any tips???
I'm gonna start experimenting with MRX01 vs U2 vs C-44 and want to put some plumbing on the fuel line to facilitate draining the tank.
Specifically looking for a source of a hi quality valve which can pass gas to the rail or be diverted to a can. Gotta be careful with 40psi gasoline...
any tips???

Piece of rubber hose and then suck. Just try to get it out of your mouth before you get a mouth full of gas.

I was thinking of doing that too, but someone told me it wouldnt work. He said the fuel pump wont keep pumping, something to do with the relay. i dont know for sure but I have an easier way. go to academy and buy the siphon bubble or primer bubble or whatever its called, for boat gas tanks. cost 5 bucks and put some clear hose on it so you can see what its doing. It siphons out real well, easy too. I pull the U-4 out then put a little gas back in it with a squirt of Lucas fuel additive, it's like some kind of oil, cleans the injectors too, run it a little bit then park it.

Dean,
yes indeedy, that's even better than i was thinking; a pair of barb end males, and 1 female, a few feet of fuel line and i'll be in biz. I betcha fuel line isn't that hard to find, just gotta go out and measure the size.
Zrex,
I've done the siphon routine and was too klutzy to get the gas all out. AND the Nutec get destroying the siphon seals. You can jump around the relay, put in a switch. Dr Vince says its easy.
Osti,
A mouth full of VP, hmmmmmmm...
Thanks guys!

Here's what I've been doing......Tip the tank up and install a 4 foot section of hose into the outlet from pump. Put tank back down into normal position and put the hose in a bucket. I've got a plug wired into the pump wiring that by passes the regulator. The plug is the same type that's used in my MPS kill switch..... Plug the teather into the bypass plug and the pump turns on and will drain the tank all the way down. Make sure you stand by while the pumps running so it doesn't cavitate. Takes a little time but works good with out adding extra plumbing.

Hey Nox..... Getting close, went 1.33 with a 9.03 @ 151 at Valdosta running pump gas !!
But my local track sucks and it's back to 1.40's. I'm going to check out the clutch and make some chassis tweaks to try and get the 1.30's back for the next points night.
