valve lash/degreed cams

I got the valve shims from the big guy,madmike,today.I was wondering if having the cams degreed made a difference on what crank position I use to set the clearance.Do I just use the stock setting or will I take in consideration the new cam settings?

Thanks Mike,I've been getting into the diesel lately.Now I'm obsessing about the stereo.Looking at JL Audio amp,polk speakers and a 10" sub.
