1000ss bike runs 161.92MPH trap speed

Did anyone else see Vince Woska run 161.92 mph at Valdosta on his GSXR1000? Unbelievable!! Someone told me they didn't even tear his motor down?

Why should they tear down the motor??? Brock Davidson would never cheat or mislead people........ Now that I think about it, no one in Prostar has ever cheated.........unless they are a privately funded racer.

Ra, I never said that the BDE team was cheating or bending the rules. I just found it interesting that Prostar didn't do a teardown after Vince took the class with that kind of MPH.

Maybe I missed your sarcasm, but surely you don't think that all AMA Prostar racers (privately funded or not) are a bunch of angels do ya? http://www.dragbike.com/dbnews/templates/news_template.asp?articleid=1434&zoneid=14

Wasn't that on friday night? Not during the actual 1000ss race. If it wasn't during qualifing or eliminations they can do what ever they want to those bikes i.e. no air filters, a little spray or what ever. None of which are legal during the race...Also like YCIS said NONE of those bikes are running "stock" motors.

Sounds good Harry. You and Adam hit me up when you ride again. I PM'd you my number.

Hey guys, according to amaprostar.com's HP estimator, the bike would need approximately 195 HP to run that trap speed, assuming a total weight of 600 lbs. I realize these bikes aren't stock by any means, but there is definitely a lot of tweaking going on to generate those kinds of numbers.
http://www.amaprostar.com/dynos.asp

Osti, Vince ran at least 160 MPH in both the final and semifinal: http://www.dragbike.com/raceday/06prostar_valdosta/final_ss.pdf

The only time there is a tear down is when there is a formal complaint and the $$$ is put down for the tear down!!!

Hey Nuke, I guess ya dont know RAC4IT's sarcasm

By the way Nuke a ZX10ss with 185rwhp will go 157mph in the 1/4 !!!...Even more MPH if the air is right and launch / shift gears at the right time...

Let me guess - you actually believe they are stock too....right?....

1) I like the potential of the 1000's.
2) I am not a "stick man" so my MPH will always be less.
3) I do own a 05 GSXR and the bike is bad in stock form.
4) I ran 140 MPH at 9.75 and 6.31 1/8 on Sat in the 1/4 on my 4th ever pass.
5) I wish I could do only bolt on's and get 20 MPH.
6) Maybe I should get some MR9........ I could run some 9.15's and 5.80's and oh yeah an air shifter.
7) I love drag racing!!!!!!!!

Not upset. I was in Street ET (i suck and am slow) at Valdosta and have talked to a few tuners/riders in an off-line capacity and found some stuff out that i always suspected.

And 185rwhp will do that - and i now know much more as to how it get's that much RWHP...

I hear ya...I was going to buy a ZX10 for 1000ss, but after finding out what really goes on I decided not to...If a racer gets torn down then he goes home with the bike in pieces and the owner has to put the motor back together!!!

So what'd those dudes tell you? That they milled the head, re-degreed the cams, used race gas, used low friction coatings on the internal parts, regeared the bike, and used 0W oil?

Ceramic bearing everthings...

Big time head milling and of course the thin head gaskets. I was surprised how many people didn't know what you just mentioned. I didn't know about the head milling until this weekend...

Guys,
Here is a link to my post about the MPH record at Valdosta:
http://psychobike.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?s=296daed5c2d5b9ee9773b4daca21b9ff;act=ST;f=1;t=576;st=40

The right lane was just like Disneyland....too much fun and NOT REAL !

Here is my reply if you don't want to wait:

Just like last year...the clocks were F*CKed UP in the right lane.
There is NO WAY I will ever believe we ran 162 mph....BUT, we did run 158 in the left with 126 in the 1/8.

It's not our job to calibrate the timing equipment for the track or Prostar....it IS our job to BURY the MPH record to just piss off everyone else- (ask Chip from last year.)

We will tear down and be found legal ANYTIME anyone feels the need to $protest$.

I'm sure Dean will hear the whining and have us break out the tools at Atlanta....no problem; it's all part of the game.

GREAT JOB to the Vince's and Dave O!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can watch the record setting video on my site here:
http://www.brocksperformance.com/champions.htm

FYI: we will have video's of Gadson crashing my 1000 in his first race on my 1000 at Richmond last year- I hope to have them up today.

Brock

Ps.

The Prostar rulebook and revisions are here: http://www.amaprostar.com/noframe_rulebook.asp

Our rules are nearly identical to AMA Superstock-
