FastByGast Battery - track report
100% success.
Even on a cold day, my 1361 would balk at starting after 3 back to back passes using the stock battery.
Last night , hot & humid,I did 4 passes in about 20 minutes (I can feel KC cringing) and the bike fired up just fine after the 4th. This battery REALLY has power!
A bit of a squeeze to get the FBGbattery to fit into the stocker's space, but its easily do-able and certainly worth it.
Also, got my 1st sub 1.5 60' last night!!!! OK, so it was a 1.499 but still I was happy

KC, I don't remember exactly what the battery cost, but was around $110.
I will pull the clutch tomorrow nite and see how much damage my "test" did. Maybe not much because I just dump it now, very little slipping.. I am still having problems finding the balls to go WOT right out of the hole. Seems like I hold the launch throttle position then screw it on about 1/2 way thru 1st, and get wheelies. Oh well, practice, practice, practice

Glad to hear it's a success, Karl. Got my mini swingarm extensions on finally. Best 60' was 1.53, 9.09 et. It'll still come up in second gear. Couldn't lower the bike too much because of clearance problems. Working on that problem now.

Ken,
9.09 on a 1.53! Damn, you'll be in 8's without even going to Nutec (2 un-opened 5 gal cans in my garage...). How quick are you getting to WOT outa the hole???
I "solved" my clearence problem by Dremeling out the entire undertail, building a little platform for the ECU, then pop riveting in an aluminum sheet . It took a few hours but gives as much clearence as I need and looks pretty good.
See you on Sat at the Shootout; you running ET and proET??

Probably just going to run street et since I only have one bike running. Just got finished doing the sheet metal job. Ought to help. I don't think I ever get wide open in first and only get wide open near the top of second. I need a shift light in a bad way. Can't count the times I slammed the limiter in the lower gears the other night. Spun the crap out of the tire several times also but the track was in poor shape.

KC,
the "theory" i'm thinking about is that if I can go WOT right out of the hole, the motor will be making low rpm/low hp and WOT won't make it go airborne. Then as the rpm (and hp) increase I'll be at WOT and ride it out. That's the theory, but I haven't done it even once (pussy right hand).
Right now, I launch at 5000, hold the throttle at that position after launch, then screw it on progressively, trying to pin it as soon as possible, but this is giving me "speed wheelies"... and knocking down the ET's On the bright side, I am learning to 1-2 shift in the air Coooooool feeling coming down out of a small but l-o-n-g wheelie in 2nd at WOT. I'm not one o' those squidly wheelie maniacs as you might have guessed.
Next time to the track I'm gonna try launching at 5500, then 6000, see what happens...
