1990 ZX10 Kawasaki Need Help
I have 1990 ZX10 and it will not rev up higher than 3500 rpm. I clean the Carb and change the plugs and it still doing the something. It was running find and started this all at once.
Can anyone tell me what to look for. I'm lost ! Help

sounds like the ram air tube going to the floatbowls fell off

Fuel pump?
JC the ZX10 didn't have ram air then. It came out with the ZX11 in 90.

I will check the petcock and the fuel pump today. It is poping fire out the pipe and will not rev up, but idler good.

I know it's an older thread, but......check valve lash??....might be tight, valves may be sunken into the head.

here's an easy one... air intake is clogged...
this happened with PK's old 1990 katana one time.. had crap stored under the seat and it partially blocked intake ... engine would starve 4 air and not rev above 3K ...
took some beer and figuring to realize what it was. Then we felt smart and stupid both at the same time!

I had the same thing happen on my 1989 ZX10 YEARS ago!
Turned out to be a "Main Jet" that had vibrated out and fell into the float bowl. It ran so/so until the needles started to lift.
