turbo build up

i have started on my turbo build up. i have header partially fit up. i will have innovative t04e 53 trim with .48 ar ex housing. 38mm mini gate, small blow off ,innovatives new billet fmu (rising rate regulator). i am going to gut pump assembly out of tank and tap plate and put bigger pump and filter on inside of rear subframe. i am going to get some 370cc rc injectors.it will have dump pipe. i am going to have blow off valve on right side of air box where air ram boot clamped on. i am going to run boost tube on other side. and seal off air box. motor, i am going to put drop in turbo pistons and heavy duty valve springs and have tranny cut. also some type of oil pan mode also run muzzy oil filter relocate, billet basket and mtc lock up. it has 2''-6'' arm with under brace. i have had severalpeople tell me that my bike is junk and it wont work but i disagree i think it will make 350 hp and live long and ride everywhere. i shouldnt have to much money in it . i wish i knew how to post pics it is super clean and is going to be pretty trick. espically for a dumbie like me working on it. also its an 05 zx 12 it has 500 miles. if any body has any knowledge and could help me i would appreciate it . also all real street bikes in lou ky area beware!!!

ive heard you have a turbo zx , i see by your replys you think negative about this set up . if you know of any major down falls or problems please let me know. also what kind of set up do you have?how much power how many problems? i personally dont forsee a big problem i know it will cost several thousland $ but thats cheap compared to other builds. my turbo waste gate and fuel reg also blow off is costing me 1050 to my door thats with all flangs and some rubber connectors. i am making header out of stock header. i can tig weld up frame and all pieces myself. a friend of mine owns a small machine shop he will make anything i ask.jegs sells a 500 hp pump for 92.00 and filter is 20.00 allhoses and plumbing connectors couldnt cost more than 200.00 for decent stuff. if it all works out and lives the power will be way bigger than some big strocker with cams ,rods ect, ect. i will have in my hole kit what somebody would pay just to get a big motor assembled. and i can make 100 more hp. but any way if you have any knowledge about this i would like to talk to you. also do you mess with cars ? im a car guy to im building a twin turbo bb camaro 502 447 1430

Sounds like a good project to me Jerry. What are you going to use for fuel control? Are you sure you want to adapt a stock header for the turbo? I would think the wall thickness might not be sturdy enough.

o cousin t blew

yea im sure the tubing from stock header is not the greatest thing but im going to run some braces and reinforce it. also im going to try and run bigger injectors370 cc and rising rate fuel regulator and tune with power commander. it can be done i did it on busa. and if i have to i can get aux fuel controler and add extra inj its not that hard just money and time. also rc ran my numbers and said 370 cc inj @ 85 psi can support 350 hp and rising rate reg works good at that pressure.

if you are going to replace the injectors....why not go with something larger than the 370s? or do you just have those already?

Also..given how the stock header comes together...id think the trubo would hang way too low no?

Here was my custom header (did use the stock header collars though)

stock header thickness WILL NOT WORK...TO THIN... you are wasting your time....it will crack. over and over... Can build you a header out of thick material for $1000.00 or sell you a muzzy header for $650.00 TYD. In any case you will need to run a scavenge pump with these headers... they are designed to make big HP and use big turbos.

Your TB's will need to be modified to accept the RC injectors we do this mod for $325.00..... if oyu want to come out cheap better stay in teh 250hp range and use the stock injectors....prices will rise very quick...as for the fuel pump...you need to check out how many amps it draws ect ect... The fuel system will need to be a bypass type and your tb's will need to be modified for this as well...that mod is $200.00..So get the injectors you want and send them to us with the TB's and $525.00 and they will be returned to you ready to bolt on.

The block off plats for the inspection covers are $225.00 the are double o ring sealed and are weld ins.... The tranny is not a thing needed for street riding.... if oyu want a race preppped transmission that will hold up to 550 pls hp they are $1895.00. ect ect ect ect ect ect ect ect..........................

A turbo project on your zx12 is not gonna be a nickle and dime thing...you are and you will spend money ..alot of it to do it... Knowledge is not free and you will spend money to obtain it. Only a hand few of people have made big power on zx12r turbo applications and made them last. i am one of them Muzzy is one and a Guy in London is the other... I suggest you purchase the muzzy street kit and have fun... I think that kit is around $6400.00. What you are trying to do is not easy and unless you have the tools and fabrication equipment.... you are in it for a long time. It will take more than a tig welder to get it done....better have a cnc mill....lather and turret mill....you are goona use those a lot... not to mention a dyno....that will cost you some money.. to get to a person that will know what to do to tune it in....or you will be doing your project twice....OH....better put some good rod in it.....BANK ON THAT!
