Anyone else DragRacing with a Super Corsa
I have been using the Pirelli Super Corsa sc2 green...So far I have a 127 passes on it and will be able to finish the season with it...
I really like that tire, with my 12 at 60" it hooks excellent on well preped tracks...My best 60' was a 1.51 and a 1.53 last saturday going 9.29 @ 150 in 77 degree temp...Tire presure was 32lbs.
By the way its a road race take off paying $100 for front and rear...Definately getting my $$$ worth!!!
Just letting you guys know how good the tire is...I hear alot of guys complaining about the Mickey's and not many passes out of them...

I run Pirelli Super Corsa race takeoffs as well on my 12 at the strip and have nothing but good to say about them. I have wondered though how it would do with either an arm or set of bars on it though.....

The Supercorsa is a great tire. The SC1 is softer and grips better than the SC2. The SC0 is a qualifying tire,it has the best grip of all the Supercorsas. It is extremely soft but also almost impossible to get and hooks just as good as a Shinko Ultra Soft and M/T shootout tire
The Power Race is just as good as the Supercorsas. Grooved slicks last a very very long time.

My SC1 works very well on a decently prepped track.

The Tires to look for are
Supercorsa SC0 (also call the Supercorsa white)damn near impossible to find. This is a qualifying tire that is very very soft (weighs 11lbs)
Supercorsa SC1-what everyone runs
Michelin Power Race- Sticks like glue-little burn out to make it stick weighs 11.5 lbs
Metzler Racetec-Nothing more than a Supercorsa with different tread pattern. Made by the same manufacture. (weighs 11.3lbs)
Mickey Thompson MCR2- Needs no explaination (weight is 11lbs)
Shinko Ultra soft- Very soft but (weighs 14 lbs)
Tomahawk Race 3 ultra soft- Another Roadrace qualifying tire that hooks Extremely well. These tires are Retreads. I ran one on my Busa and loved it and really like the price is $140.00
You can gain up to 1-2 horsepower from switching from a heavy tire to a lighter one(190 to a 180). Most tires grow up to 14mm at high speeds so look at the tire sizes on slicks. This can also effect your 60' times.
Perelli Dragon 190/55/17
Michelin Slicks 180/68/17
Dunlop KR108 190/70/17
The reason why I run 180s is that they are a little lighter than 190s and give the same contact patch.Slicks have alot more rubber than D.O.T tires. The Mickey Thompson has the least amount of rubber of them all so with the M/T you will only get about 8 runs before you will have to replace it.

1.49s on a 180/55 R003 Shinko, no problems spinning, ever.
Currently on a 190/55 SC1, and low 1.50s (only been to the track twice on it).
63.5in wheelbase.

I am using the 190/55 SC1...
