You do have several ways of measuring "Stretch" buy a Micrometer if you already do not have one or a good Stainless Vernier Caliper with a Dial or Digital read out will show what you have.

It's my understanding that stretch is measured while the bolt is torqued, correct? On the Falicon rods, there is no access to the bolt end.Or can I measure the bolt unstressed to check for elasticity ?rebound

Quote: As far as ECP, I don't want to trash Freddie as I really haven't found whats wrong yet.He called me throughout what was going on and was forthright about problems but didn't want to go further because he didn't do the motor work.
It becomes difficult for any shop to work on someones elses engines. Personally, I would rather completely remove the engine and tear it down to the crank and transmission to make sure everything is the way it should be. That way there are no reasons why all shouldn't be right. That is the absolute correct way to do an engine properly. But then the customers budgets comes into the picture and you all know what happens from there. aliveagain is a good guy and will continue to get the help he deserves from all of us at ECP. He is learning... maybe the hard way, but he is definately learning. I would venture to say that a lot of us learned the "HARD" way... from our mistakes!
