my old bucket 2000 12R made 172hp on a DJ150 with an HMF pipe, k&n's, PC3R,etc. No major dyno tuning.

New 1290........we'll see in a few weeks.

SANTA FE, are those numbers on pump gas, or on Nutec or VP?
I never know if the 1270cc/1290cc motors hitting 195 - 200 are on race gas or not......
I need to know for comparison's sake when I get mine dyno'd......

The brisk sparkplugs were good for 1.8 hp on back to back dyno runs on a Dyno Jet 200 with a fresh set of CR10EK. The Brisk is equal to the stock plug a CR9E. They do not have a CR10 EK cross yet. Did not not spark knock like the CR9E did but they only lasted 150 miles and fouled. Not the mapping. I will stay with the CR10EK's. Live and learn, sucker for anything...

Now this stuff worked!. Not an oil additive a metal conditioner my bike on the dyno cooled down quick and took look more pulls to get too the right temps. I stay a consistent 174-177 on the hwy and takes longer to heat up at a light. I do not have to turn the on the manual fan switch as often. 1 oz per qt of oil for the bike and a few drops on the chain.

I bought from these folks below and they threw in a tube of their auto lube free

Put in my truck, power steering pump -bottle is empty now. Next the rear end when I get my next order.

The numbers i posted are 195 hp(dynojet) is on winter gas(oxygenated). The 202 hp is on the mjp dyno. run on regular(non-oxygenated summer gas).

I never thought about running the bike on the dyno without airfilters. How much hp did you gain by taking them out? (anotheredhead?)

Hey AA, do you think Freddie has a stingy dyno? Hate to say this, but with that displacement you might expect a little more HP.

Lets wait to see what the SAE HP is and then decide?

I couldn't even tell you what model the dyno is,but yes I think it is on the low side.I was concerned about it at first until in past post, people explained how not to get caught up in the dyno wars.If I think of it as just a tuning tool then I'm ok with this.On just the stroker and balance removal ,I picked up only 5-9 hp,but I also got another 19 ft/lbs to assist in launching Team LMR.I suppose Freddie could squeak out another bunch of ponies, however ,I'm not willing to spend the money.LOL,after all,I'm only doing this for fun, can't ya see.

yea, dont get caught up in the dyno wars, but dont get fucked either. why do some make 220rwhp with a 1427 and others make 192?? Hmmmmm there are lots of variables in the equation, you just need to go through them....

Mine is a stock 2000 head which isn't as good as the later years.I suppose with head work(10hp) and another 10 from VP fuel along with some after market velocity stacks,I could be up there.I will be the first to admitting this being more power than my burnt brain cells can handle but even so ,there is always the starter button.

You're right, I have no idea how your motor is set up, what compression, mapping, etc etc. If it pulls good mph and is reliable, what more can you ask for.

i'd say lo-mid 190's for a 1290/1320 is very strong;

I've seen seen plenty o' 1300 busas with cams at 180-190 and plenty of 1397 busas just shy of 200. My 1361 at 190-195 ran even with the 1397's at the 1/4.

Seems you gotta get tricky with CR & squish height along with cams, porting, fuel, etc to go for NA gold if you don't wanna stroke it.

A REAL tricky 1397 Busa or 1427 Kwak in the 220-230 range? yes indeed, but these are NOT motors which are just bolted together following the manual and slowing moving yr lips as you read,

BUT, 1/4mi mph tells REAL hp, i don't believe dyno hp too much.

Entropy, how true and I'm in the latter category.I proved to myself I could do it but it also shows why paying a builder is beneficial.Hell,I haven't even made a pass with it yet so who knows the longitivity of it yet.I'm with you on one account,a busa with a ghetto would have been easier and cheaper.
