4.6mm Stroker and 1290 bigbore????

Anyone ever done that combo. I know 4.6mm stroker and 1270 bigbore is common because is the Muzzy Package but what about a 1290 and the 4.6mm stroker??

It is basically the same as ANY stroker/piston combo. .4mm means nothing in the big picture, and 20cc is also basically the same. Make it simple and just do a 5mm stroke and 3mm bore.. So any 1375 or 1436 kit, has the same basic issues. More torque and HP the bigger you go "usually"................ smile

I haven't done it yet, but I am sending out a spare crank and the bike is currently sitting at 1290 (well, not back yet from Lee's, GRRRR) I'll send it back to Lee this winter to install the stroker on top of the 1290.

I dunno Ra, I'd always want to at least *consider* my bore-stroke ratio, ya know? Not that each setup is dramatically different, but, just something to keep an eye on if ya don't want excessive piston side loading.

Didn't want to hijack or anything, so, ZXLNT, I have nothing beneficial to offer here really.

someone get me a crank and I'll put it in my engine while it's still being built within the next 3 weeks. heheheh

**edited because I apparently don't know ZXLNT from KrexKen.

My comments were in a "generic" sense to answer the question. Certainly, the specifics affect the outcome, but not the building process that much, that is all I was thinking. Putting in a crank and changing pistions all require the same building fundamentals and labour, no matter the size.
