1270 and 1290 Questions......

Anyone with experience on both? Comments please.
Why build a 1270 when 1290 requires the same work/~cost?
Who make the the 1290 pistons?
Are the pistons as good as the muzzy pistons.
What would the 1290 be with the 1361 crank?
MY guess is 1384, right.
Has anyone done this yet? any problems?

.

The 1290's I am familiar with are from Carpenter Racing,it is a JE piston kit,hp is consistent with muzzy's 1270,but one thing, most carpenter motors that are 1290 cc's usually have cams(costom grind)and headwork, something that carpenter does very well, pushing well over the hp that a 1361 motor does, but at a cost$$,also, muzzy 1270 kits are a cleaner and better fit, just drop it in,no shaving, matching,or clean-up,they even go in better and easier then replacing factory pistons(rings),something my mechanic was expaining to me,also, the gasket w/the muzzy kit is "perfect",SBM and a few other kits involve a bit more then just dropping in the kits and going, and just so you know,Super bike mike would not sell me his 5mm crank,he said 12000$ and he would build me a 230hp 1436,that's a 1320 billet block and a 5mm crank with bigger throttle bodies, cam grinds and headwork,I tried to get him do sell me some stuff and he said he wouldn't make any money doing that and said for me to think it over and call him back-hmm,your better off dealing w/muzzy,they service most of us well and aren't bitches about selling products,I will never be beat by an SBM bike-and that's probably why.
