05 gsxr1000 is FAST

I saw a new 1000 run at the track last night.
9.30 @ 154 STOCK Wheelbase.
The bike was lowered but not slammed.
Full exhaust , no PC. and a very small jock.
Be careful guy you may have you azz handed to you by
a 1000.

That's quick. I'm worried. Where did that bike run?

Last years ZX10R huh... Maybe as the Prostar season progressed but they didn't run any quicker than 9.5's in Valdosta this year and that was with a PC on it.

I think the 05 1K may be the big boy killer that everyone thought the 10R and R1 where but actually weren't.

These bikes are gonna be amazing when they get to Prostar....

Put the crack pipe down... last year's ZX-10R performance, without a jock. Hell, I've got a few slips with 9.80s @ 147mph by an '04 R1 with a strap, and that's it, no Ryan Schnitz size jock either.

It's going to be no different than the 10R or R1. Find one with a good rider (RARE) and you're in trouble. It weighs the same, and makes slightly more power. Funny how the Suzuki drones are finally starting to pull their heads out of their asses now that they have something that can actually compete.

Ok, here is the REAL DEAL.

I just got back from Commerce (Atlanta AMA Prostar) and, as everyone knows, my blood runs GREEN. I'm die hard Kawasaki, always have been, but after today, I'm seriously considering buying a yellow shirt!

The '05 Suzuki 1000 handed Kawasaki it's ass all day, every ZX-10 in the house was shut down bigtime by the new Zuks. I couldn't believe it.

I hereby eat my words.

The new GSXR1000 is NO JOKE. Until I saw it with my own eyes, seriously it hands ZX10s their ass all day long, repeatedly, against veteran riders too like Norman Jackson! I'm dumbfounded.

Plus after talking with Lee about the "potential" the new '05 1000 has, there is no doubt they will be making substantial numbers when you dig into the engine or add nitrous. I'm convinced.

Can I put down my brand loyalty? Yesterday I would have said no, today, it's questionable!!!!!

PS there were such heavy headwinds and crosswinds all day they ended up running some of the event 1/8th mile instead or 1/4 mile. Bumped into Team Millholland, and the usual crowd, had a great time. Only would have been better had I been piloting my bike instead of spectating.

Was surprised, thought it would be much closer . The 10r is a sweet package. The new 1k is kicking butt in all forms of racing. Maybe in Motogp they should drop the v4 for inline design and they might win there too!

If Kaw follows the same upgrade path as their 600 has the past few years. The next 10r will be an even greater machine than it is now. I don't bleed any brand. Just sit back and let the manufactures duke it out and when the technology and power nears my 1070 I will buy one or if Honda builds a V5..Whichever comes first!

For now, I would rather tinker a little every year on my four year old 1070 (12k and over 60 dyno pulls on the built motor) 25k on the whole bike, which dyno'd last week at 178 on motor and unfourantly the NOS kit was not ordered er something which would have gotten me in the 210 is range, than lose a bunch $$ on a trade/sell, and a pipe, which are getting more expensive for the minimal gain.

BIG difference between 9.80s and a 9.30 notice no 's' . 147mph vs. 154 are we talking the same language. Do you know anything about Drag racing? You could spay that 9.80s and would still loose to the 9.30.
I take pride in whatever i ride, but i'm not blind. 1000 had a small jock just not a pro. I expect Ryan and Chip to put a good number down on anything.

i have yet to see a 1000 do anything impressive with a 200 lb rider.
do your hp to weight chart then do it with a 200 lb rider.
If your close to my size get a lane, and PLEASE be on a 05 zuk.
