Anyone using a RAPTOR shiftlight??

If so....could you share your wiring configuration?

I am on my second unit and both of them have the same issue.

The unit will flash as if it was just powered up during normal riding. This is very Intermittent and all other functions perform flawlessly.

My wiring configuration is a s follows...

Black: to chassis main ground on left side of airbox.

Red: to switched continuous power at fuse box.

Green: to Light Blue Tach signal input wire to guages.

Dip switches set to: 1 on
(8 cylinder setting) 2 off
3 off
RPM x1000 set to 5
RPM x100 set to 5 = 11,000 rpm shift point.

Thanks To anyone who can share info or find a flaw in my set up!!

this may be a dumb question but why would you have it set for 8 cylinder?
double check all of your connections and make sure there is no loose ends....(you probably have already done this).

No problem Mike....

The Raptor Performance shiftlight 4 cylinder setting only goes to 9,900 rpm, so...You set it to 8 cylinder and then "Divide desired RPM by 2" and set . The current 8 cylinder setting I have is 5,500 which = 11,000.
It Lights every time at my desired RPM w/o problem.

All connections Are soldered and the ground is on the same stud in frame as main ground.

from what you say you are either losing your ground or your power for a second I would recheck both of those. what did raptor have to say?
this may be dumb but does it happen when the bike is around 5k rpm? or does it happen at a specific rpm when your just cruzing around?

MM, The ground is on the same stud in the frame as the main harness. I also used some star washers to make good bite.

I agree on the "power interupt" issue, it would be hard to point to a switched, soldered (not Cold), fused power source off the fuse box, especially since I have no other power related issues. I cannot rule it out either.

The flashing of the unit is very intermitent and random. Yesterday, it worked flawlessly on the ride! Hmmmmm....

Raptor just replaced my original unit w/o issue, but feels that "Moisture" could be a possible contributor. First, Az is very dry and second, I do not ride even if it's damp. Plus, I "sponge bathe" the bike and NEVER use a Hose.
