I agree. Once you go to a shootout tire you can't go back.

It's not a Muzzy seat, it's something else (can't remember what). With the wheel right at the back it's 68", at the moment it's about 67".
Thanks for the exhaust tip Dean!

Just got my Ultra-Soft mounted. Will try it for the first time tomorrow. Have run a bunch of 9.2X's this year on the MCR2 and the "old" Shinko at 63in and about 20hp shot (730# bike+rider)

The U-Soft works great. Never spun (but the track was very good). Ran 12# on pass one and spun tire on rim 3in, then put it at 15#
Ran (in order) 9.25, 9.21, 9.22, 9.24, 9.15 @151mph
20 shot, stock motor, 63in, 735# actual wt. on the scales this day.

How is the Diameter compared to a 208 Dunlop? Anyone have any "Issues" going over 200 with this tire? I need to get a tire that will Hook up with Randall on the Bike (100 Pounds less than me!) So far, the 180 Dunlop Road Race tire, Pirelli Super Corsa and Shinko are the tires in the running?

Not sure why, but the Shinko's say "max speed 168" on them.......

Not sure why either... considering it's the same "max speed" for practically every ZR rated motorcycle tire in production.

I agree with the "nothing better" BUT!!!
After running the SoftShinko on 4 bikes I can say that it works VERY well...John is going to continue running them on his ZX12 because the latest M/T doesn't LAST very long and costs WAY more the Shinko...
The shinko doesn't last long either but works "plenty good enough" IE-just as good for the 200HP that John's bike has

I've just been told that the Shinko we had was the old drag/street type, not the Ultra soft. I guess a 1.48 on that wasn't so bad after all. A friend watching told me it was screeching so looking forward to getting our first runs of the year on a MT soon.

I've had a few 1.49s on my 6 month old 180/55 003 non ultra soft.

I've had bunches of 1.48's on the old style shinko.
If the new one is better it will be the way to go. I think they are lighter too
so better hook-up and more mph.
