Just running numbers through my head and wonder how many bottles do you guys bring to the track?1 or 2# bottles?seems if I had a 1# bottle,I'd have to replace after every run. So,how many spares would I need?

Buy a large 20lb or larger bottle and use it to fill your 2lb and or spare.
Difficult to fill a 1lb bottle without a pump...youd need ice.

Unless you're spraying 150hp shot you're not going to consume 1# of nitrous on a single pass. Two or three passes can be had on a single 1# bottle. Having two or three bottles is nice, plus a large 10# to do transfers. A scale isn't really necessary when doing a transfer unless you have a pumping station.
MIR also has a nitrous transfer facility.

A digital 0-10lb scale is critical, around $50 from OfficeMax or the like. You can leave your mother bottle (big as you can find) in the sun or next to your truck tailpipe to get it warm, and stick your 2lb in ice for a few minutes to enable a full transfer. You can overfill up to 6ozs if you like. Warm up the small bottle after to body temp or 900psi. With your extra 2lb chilling while you're running, you can make the switch while your bike cools off.

I just use a 20lb tank to fill my 1lb bottle keep in in the truck to warm. On cold days in the sun on warm. Only takes a few min. Around here ya got plenty of time between the car runs. You can ice the bottle or just leave a lil bit of nos in the bottle and quickly release it. Instant frozen bottle.

You can fit a 1 lb. bottle in the tail section and it will last about 3 passes on a 40 hp dry shot!!!!
We just carry 2 spare 1 lb. tanks full.....That is 9 passes!!!
And yeap! what Dean said!!!!

AT Maxton, I took 4 - 2.5 pound Bottles and 2 - 10 Pound bottles. I used a cheap (under $5.00 fisherman's hanging scale for weightm and Ice Chest, and the heat the bottles, I used a Heater Blanket that I got for about $50.00 and hooked long wires to it and small Motorcycle Jumper style clips. I cliped my Van Batterym got the 10# Bottle hot and the small Bottles cold and was able to get 3 pounds in the 2.5 pound bottles. So I took 30 pounds and had plenty to spare and loan someone a 2.5 pound bottle to set a record! SO for 1/4 mile I would take 2 small bottles and 1- 10 pound bottle

Great help guys,thanx.Muzzy pump,mandatory or not with a 40 or 60 shot?
So far I have a 1320 kit,K%N,Ti-Force pipe and the emissions out.I'm at 180 hp now but I think there is more in the motor especially after seeing the plugs. I'm just looking to see how I can do this with 1 time to the dyno, cause dyno's blow your motors don't you know.

If you want to be on the "safe" side with the 1320 and spray... Id say its worth the $$ to upgrade.

I use a 10lb "mother" bottle and had a single 1lb bottle. This season, I'm gonna have two small bottles with me. If it gets late in the program and you get some quicker laps in, it gets a little "hurried" to fill and warm back up. FYI, for a 40 shot 2nd-up it averaged 4oz per pass, but I usually switched after two passes because of the angle of the bottle.
My 2000 could get plenty of fuel for 40hp. I'll be dyno-ing with a sniffer for 60hp in the next couple weeks. I'll post results.......

You dont need the pump for that jetting, but get one anyway. For the record, I have one in my green bike. My silver bike has the stock pump, both work, but you'll feel more comfortable having upgraded the fuelpump. LOL.

Well I went ahead and did it.I bought a dry shot kit.My next question is if I'm going to be changing the bottle every 3 to 4 runs anyways, can I use just 1 bottle to run both shifter and dry shot? Will the valve flow enough gas to support both.

Answer to your question: yes. Do I recommend it: no. The less complicated your configuration the better off you'll be reliability wise.
Yes the valve flows way way way more than enough for both. For an air-shifter you're bleeding off most of the flow it draws anyway using a pressure regulator to get the pressure down from 850-1050psi to about 125psi, most of that escapes in the bypass valve / regulator.
Of course I can't end this response without mentioning that you don't need an air-shifter anyway heck if I didn't mention it the Berg haters out there would have nothing to moan about. :-P LOL
