shimming stacks??

I have a set of short bear stacks on number 1 and 4 cylinder and muzzy stock stacks in the middle. Can i simply add shims under the muz stacks to effectively increase the mid range. Also would a taller stock stack mess with any of the flow characteristics in the airbox, via raised stacks sticking out? thanks in advance.

ps: I'm trying to save a few scheckles here.

santafe,
if you shim the stack, you create a corresponding gap where the stack bottoms in the TB; it'll prolly still seal, but the gap might interfer with air flow in the stack/TB. impact????

what is the difference in height between yr 2 muzzy stock stacks and 2 bear short stacks????
