Report card: JohnnyCheese latest Entopy build

Whew... i'm tired; too damn much biz-travel, and not enough time to spend in JC's shop, so my build has been delayed. John patiently waits for me to return so I can "participate" (basically that means smoke cigs and watch & occaisonally lose his tools).

Anyway, 2 days after I got back in town, Cheese "and I" got it back together and on the dyno yesterday.

Made a solid 223hp std from 10,000 to redline; we are both happy! Plastiguaged, clayed, cc-d, measured everydamn thing twice. Put a stethyscope to it and heard the sweetest smooth whirring sounds .

Its up 6-7hp from the last build so I am 110% happy.

Cheese: "you GO, boy!", have a good vacation in Cal!

CR: What's the "origional Duce and a Quarter"????

Bossman: pretty soon JC won't be doing ANY Busas .

Yesterday he had 4 ZX12's in the shop (mine, Ralf's, 2 of Buddy's), a cruiser, a CBX, and only 1 Busa (JC's own ole Copper Top). If he'd ever work on his own bike, he could clear his place of Bugly's completely

Entropy likes real numbers I could be like Lee and Bob, if I did Entropy made 230HP but he doesn't like to count peaks

I may just have to give the Cheese man an engine to build up.. If he wasn't so far away. I've got three engines now that need a build.

Good work, cause those numbers are not easy to get!!! I am hoping to see over 160MPH in the 1/4 from this bike.

Is the numbers the same as they were for last year as far as degrees and specs and etc!?

Ra,
same cam timing, 107/110
CR up from 14.5 to 15.3+/- (replaced MTC's w/custom JE pistons, more dome)
same quench height (.044")
changed the 48mm TB's to 46mm OEM's,
new boots, carefully matched (numbered) to int ports
changed mixed Bear stacks to all Muzzy shorts,
replaced the Hans CF snorkle with OEM.

To keep it apples to apples as much as possible, JC even adjusted the AF to more or less match last May.

I really think the increase was mostly due to higher CR, but who knows.

It will be interesting to see what numbers it pulls on the REAL dyno, the 1320' one. who knows maybe it'll even pull my fatass to 160????

Great work. Interesting that the stock throttle bodies seem to perform as well as the oversize. Did you do a before/after just swapped them?

Can't wait to hear about how it runs. Tracks still open in Texas?

Dean,
I did before after dyno and track tests on the big TB's, and although i SEEMED to gain a few hp on the dyno with the 48's, I didn't seem to see any consistent mph gain on the track. So, off they came. Right decision? I dunno, but it is splittng hairs, not much of a difference if any.

Tracks are open in Texas after a lil Xmas break. Day time racing in Jan is about as good as it gets.

Hey Karl, would you mind posting your dyno graph? I have a collection of keepers from various bikes, and I'd like to add some Cheese... :P You can email it to me if you don't have a place to host it.

(OT: the ZRX lives, it went 9.13 @ 155 on modest boost last Sunday)

wazzup, Mike?!

you don't need no stinkin' dyno curves, you need new baby stuff (soon!)

Q: why don't Iowa girls breast feed their babies?

A: it hurts too much to boil their nipples.
