Is Cam Degreeing Worth It ?
I installed a 1270 kit about 2 months ago. I'd like to know if it would be worth the cost to have my cams degreed and maybe clean up the head ?Also what kind of hp increase would this give me ? Thanks Warp 12

are you looking for every last ounce? 1-3HP. if so then yes buy the Muzzy adjustable sprockets and set her up. every motor is different. so your's might pick up a little more?

Hey 12,
If you've done a pipe, and intake work [if applicable] the cams should be done. Just don't expect mountains of new HP. It all adds up though.
I did my race bike [not a 12] and picked up 4 hp ['course I need every one] but it was costly [had to slot my OEM cam gears.]
As MM said, all motors are different and each builder is different so you could enjoy more improvment than either of us did.
Just go for it. You know you wanna ............. besides it sounds cool.

12 Speed, what were you expecting that you don't feel happened with the 71cc upgrade? Keep perspective of what you did, which wasn't much.
My opinion is to not spend alot of money. I gather your cams are at the factory settings. Moving them 1 or 2 degrees will honestly do nothing that you will actually notice. Your bike should be running better than it did before and you should be happy. The amount of money you are about to spend would be better redirected......trust me! The zx12 has MAJOR limitations. Learn it by listening or by spending, your choice.
Now if you just want to get faster, then before you do more motor work, learn to ride it like a PRO. When you are low 9's and consistent then buy some more HP. There is alot you can do regarding chassis, gearing, and other SETUP things that will be a better investment at your stage.

ps- I'll add if you really really want to spend money for more power, drop in a $300 dry nitrous kit, done! best hp:$ ratio you'll ever find!
