small shot in 2nd (220# suited) on stock motor. 6.00 at 124, 9.13 @157 at 63in.

Not too many laps with this set-up. I'm sure a 5.8X/8.9X wuz there with more seat-time.

Think a stk motor could handle a 50 or60 shot for long with better valve springs ?

Johnnycheese mentioned in the past that the stock exhaust valves are prone to breakage...especially when spraying.

I think that's cuz when they roll off at the end of the run, they burp the valves and lose the retainers...Then all hell breaks loose...

Back when my motor was untouched I spayed a 60hp wet shot running 91 octane unleaded and no timing removed. I ran this combonation for a whole season with a best of 9.03 at 155-157. Tore the motor down at the end of the season. The pistons looked great but the pins were kind of stiff in the piston. Poor lubrication is what I thought but possibly a case of slight detonation.

HD springs and Ti retainers will fix that!

Never had a problem spraying 60 - 75 on a stock motor...provided you can deliver the extra fuel needed to do it!

#36 jet dry, done.

Although to go 5.9s you will need to hit it right at the 1-2 shift, good luck on stock wheelbase

What race4it said.......

Even geared down, you're pretty far down track (maybe 250') at the 1-2 shift. Not too much time to make gains on spray.

BTW, at 63in I wasn't able to spray 40 in 1st. Gonna go dual stage next year, with a tiny boost on WOT in 1st, then 2nd stage in 2nd.

Dave Schnitz reckons 60 hp max on stock pistons. Not enough meat above the first ring land to run any more, I'd be inclined to take his advice,

Aftermarket MTC turbo /nitrous have the same amount of meat abouve the first ring land. There just forged instead of cast.I think I got more runs out of stock pistons(before bang) then i did out of stock bore aftermarket pistons with the same nitrous tune up.I don't know why.
If your running just 1/8 mile you should not have a problem. You problem will be getting the nitrous in as much and as soon as possible.

@ 63" I was able to grab a #34 pill in 1st right before the 1-2 shift footshifting. Get that clutch out early, as soon as its out on the button = solid 8s.

Bergie my bike is 61 inches, and i was wot before the 60FT, AND THE 1st to 2nd shift with my 197hp stroker. I just kept thinking "DBS". Never used Nitrous before , so all this is new to me. Just need a cheap way to keep my #'s on tha track. It left running 5's, I want it in tha 5's when she's back .
