Bergie...
Just wasn't the same at Capt. Larry's without ya!
We met up with Vincent and his crew and as always, had a great time.
Had some free Maxton horsepower on Saturday and several records were set. Lee went like 255 or there abouts....CRAZY but fun to watch!
Chad went over to Maxton with Greg Scott taking Greg's '98 ZX9R. On motor he went 192+ and went 202+ spraying a 40 shot setting a new class record. Plenty fast for a "small" bike.
Chad also rode "Smurf", the blue ZX10R that Coby built. He only made a few passes since they got there about 11:00 Sunday.
He made several over 200 with the best at 202.247mph.
He rode the Kawasaki Mean Streak that Chip ran in the Hot Rod Cruiser class. Only made one pass at 151+ due to running out of gear at 3/4 mile. It's one fast cruiser for sure.
There was an all motor 'Busa that went 216 which is so very, very impressive, I believe his name is Dave Owens.
Vincent was fighting gremlins all week-end, his sons best was 199+ while running out of gear....He'll be back!

Wish I was there, I was thinking about Capt Larrys on Saturday night probably around the same time you guys were there! One question how do you run out of gear on a zx12? LOL I hate to say it but Vincent is making it all too complicated! Better luck next year for sure!

Psycho....
I think Vincent was running 19/44 but it may have been hitting the limiter because of tire spin. I believe I was using 18/44 when I ran 202+ at Maxton and never bumped the limiter so apparently he wasn't out of gear at 200 like I originally posted.

199.x mph and running out of gear using 19/44??? That would have to be insane tire spin! Just doesn't add up.

Agreed Dan I also was running 18/44 at 202+mph N/A actually exit speeds as high as 204.7 and didn't run out of gear.

The tire spin theory is questionable 19!44 should be good for at least 215 mph. If the bike was making enough power to spin the tire to the rev limiter in 6th gear using a 19-tooth countershaft sprocket and two teeth down on the rear and not break 200mph on nitrous?

He could have been in the 200club two years ago with $100 worth of parts and a 30 minute install. Dont need fancy bodywork, elaborate wet nitrous systems or cut down fuel tanks to get there. It hasnt worked (yet) over complicated and way too time consuming, not to mention resource consuming with parts expenses, dyno time, tuning, and rebuilds.

I know he likes to do it his way aka the "hard way" but no matter how many times he tries to explain it I still don't understand why? What's the point?

The phrase "Work smarter, not harder." comes to mind.

PS- Dont get me wrong I'm a HUGE Vincent fan and I want to see him get there as much or more than anyone else. I've never seen someone work so hard for .1 mph and be denied with a case of bad luck. BUT shooting for "220mph" is one giant leap away from the one small step he will take in breaking 200.

One step at a time seems logical. Forget 220! Concentrate on 200!

Also I would like to see Vincent piloting his bike because I would rather see him on the bike WHEN IT DOES break 200 for the FIRST time. Nothing against Randall he will surely do it too but it wouldn't be the same as seeing the man himself be the FIRST to do it on his own bike.
