Typically anything quicker than 6.5 should translate to 9s, depends on your ability, weight, gearing and horsepower level.

how much do you weigh? and are you stock wheel base? Need more info to tell you where the improvement needs to be. Give some numbers on how your runs have been going if you have made any.

6.55 @ 115mph got me a 9.96 @ 144mph (Stock motor, pipe, PC3, filters, 17/46, stock wheelbase.
I'd say the 6.54 @ 110mph is down in that 9.99 - 10.0 area.

Given that you make the same hp as a stock ZX12 but have 85+lbs less weight... it should not be a problem.

well i weight about 300 suited, As far as 1/4 mile runs 0 All have been 1/8th at a very high altitude. With poor track conditions. I am 9in over on wheel base. NOt spinning with 60ft in the low 1.6 range very consistant. t rex here is my personal best.
60 1.620 1.625
330 4.316 4.327
1/8 6.540 6.585
mph 110.210 108.22
the right had side is at the mountain track where traction is limited plus the air is real thin.

60' should be in the mid to low 1.4's with 9" over.
practice, practice and practice. Don't be afraid to try new things.
500 hp won't do you any good if you don't

with you weight I see why you are geared so low.....I am 225 and was geared 15/45 on my 03, 1000...Ihad a 1.49, 60"... 3.997, 330...6.07, 1/8@118.11mph....9.465, 1/4....when I leave the throttle is wide open and I use the clutch. You cannot let the bike get under 9 1/2 grand or it will bog......This method came from alot of trial and error, and it worked for me. Like Ninja12 said..(Practice, Practice, Practice) it can be done. Another ? what year is your 1000 and where do you shift?

I have tried the wide open thing several times. basically thats what im doing but i always get a big wheelie at about the 60ft marker. Right not i launch at around 7 to 8 grand snap out the clutch till the motor begans to bog then slip a lil to avoid that. Im very consistant like this.

work on that 60' as much as posible because itz like me with your weight the bike will only go so fast so the time will have to be cut with a better 60'...If the wheelie is the bigger problem try gearing where I was 15/45 it may let you put a little more hp on the ground .

You shouldn't be slipping ANYTHING at 9" over. Rev that bitch up more and dump it until it stops bogging or adjust your gearing accordingly. Heavier guys may need significantly more gear than their 200lb friends on the same bike. Let it fly with a leap of faith dude, dont be scared. PS- if you weight that much maybe you should think about trading that 1000 for a Busa or 12. 1000s dont make the torque you need for a good run. Look at the heavyweight hitter class in the MIRockracing.com series, guys going 8.0s over 240 lbs and some guys at your weight going high 8s low low 9s! That's 64" wheelbase (6 over). Put the kit on your 1000 if you dont want to step up to a busa or 12.

I am 6'6'' and 400 pounds, I have to be really careful about body positioning when I pull my leg up or the bike will wheelie, usually 60-100 feet out, I have a stock wheelbase 12 and a box stock 10.

I got my 1000 to work well with me but I traded it in and got a 12. Like Rac4it said I needed some more torque. Makes it a bit easier to launch. I put a 1290 kit and now I am Happy. I gear her low too 15/46

Get the basket, all the smart 12 guys have them.
If something doesn't work for you try something else.
If you leave the same way everytime you will get the same results.
Like you said yourself " Im very consistant like this". Consistants is great for a Bracket racer and will help you when you try new things, but won't help you go faster. Have you got the supension right. BIG advantages can be had right here.
