2-stage Lockup tuning; good Q Wezze93

Wezze93 asked a good question, one which deserves it's own thread:

"im having problems with my clutch an mtc single [2] stage lock-up i tried to run three weights an washer it ran good mph on the spray but my 60ft. is not good, because it lock up to soon. so i took all the weight off i could come out better an my mph was good on motor but when i sprayed it my clutchs start slipping what can i do to get it to leave good an hold up the spray"

I am testing the same issue, i.e. the transition between static spring pressure and centrifugal arm pressure; good 60' vs bike coming up about 60' out. I took all the weight off the arms and the clutch locked up a little bit further down the track, so I could see cause n' effect on the LM-1. Too bad that I lost the motor at the big end so i couldn't see if mph was off due to no weights.

Should I have bought a multistage??

Anybody have any thoughts???

Anyone wanna buy my MTC 2 stage??? (so I can buy a multistage) No problems whatsoever with biting the heads off puller shafts.

I bought it because I was afraid that the multistage would be impossible for me to set up, but with the LM-1, I think I can do it systematically.

I have gotten a 1.429 60' outa the 2 stage, but I want MORE!

I am 210-215# suited; 67.5"; had 6 OEM clutch springs, nut, bolt, washers on 3 arms, no weight on the other 3 arms. Launched at 4500rpm, snapped clutch out, was WOT about 60' out.
Data log showed I rocked the throttle shortly after leaving the line; a bad habit I am trying to cure. Seems like when the arms come out and the clutch starts to bite, my rhand gets wimpy.
60'_____1.429
330'____3.755

A Bud of mine (Buddy) is lending me a multistage MTC off his idle turbo12, so when Cheeseman gets the motor together, I will be experimenting with it.

kzz1,
Do youself a favor and call him; VERY nice guy, full of info. You might be surprised who sends him work.

Chan-man
$375 for the MTC; my issue is how to deal with the clutch cover which needs modding,.. No charge for my info gathered with my LM-1 which will REALLY help set up the clutch quickly. I was getting very close when the motor went south
