Wet NOS on '02 fuel problem

Guys,

I have just installed a 4 x wet fogger setup on my '02 and am am having a problem.

Fuel to the solenoid comes from a "T" installed in the fuel line between the tank and the fuel rail. I have the fuel jets "jetted" for 45psi - a 14F to go with the 24N. 100HP progressive.

As soon as I activate the system the engine cuts for what seems like a couple of milli-seconds. I think when the fuel solenoid opens and fuel starts to flow to the jets, the fuel pressure drops for a split second (causing the engine to cut) until the regulator in the stock fuel pump starts to do it's job. Remember the '02 has a different pump/regulator setup than the previous model.

I notice on the Muzzy wet system they use a regulator that if fed from the stock fuel pump, I guess to lower the pressure to what I don't know?

Is this the answer, install a regulator?

You might be better serve with a fuel regulator and standard jetting.
I don't think the fuel solenoid is pulsed .

OK, I'm stuck again, what regulator do i need?
I have done a search on Holley Red but am still not sure what to get.

I presume you guys are suggesting I should be using about 5psi of fuel pressure?

So, I will need a regulator to drop from around 45psi to 5psi, is that correct?
Jetting will then be like 26F and 24N for a 100hp setup?

According to the Schnitz site 24n 28f is 80hp and 26n 30f is 100hp,
using NOS pump 24n 24f = 80 and 26n 26f = 100hp with Hi output pump.
These are usually on the safe(rich) side with fuel.
I'd say start rich and move lean if needed, the other way could be messy.
I know the zx12 responds well to nitrous but does the 24N jets really produce 100hp?

Dyno Dyno Dyno.
To many veriables
and you want at least 12:1 A/F with spray and I would take at least 2-4 degress out and hope you have NON OEM exhaust valves and good springs

Very good advice...cheeseman...

Every bike I've run on the dyno...so far...has been rich and down on power...for jet-sizes...
It only makes sence for the companies to jet a bit rich (at least) so that hopefuly no-one (let alone EVERYONE) will be melting the phone lines...because they melted piston-s...
Fuel pressure-s just varys too-damned-much from unit to unit...giving you different set-up/NEEDS for each unit...

How much is safe with the stock valves?
