Hardcore Dragbike series final....
Well guys I started the weekend 2 points behind the leader. And this was with 2 races left 1 on saturday and 1 on sunday... usually I pull up on saturday with enough time to make 1 or 2 time runs. but I decided because this was an important race weekend I would get there early. so we left my house about Midnight, like usual. but this time my wife was coming with so she could drive!!! she did not realize that untill I handed her the keys  . so anyway we roll in around 6AM and all is well. got a bunch of sleep and ready for the day ahead... fresh oil, fresh clutch (I had 5 broken fibers??), fresh plugs.. She was ready...
I line up for my first pass and run
RT = .117
60 = 1.595
330' = 4.068
1/8 = 6.116
mph = 119.82
1000' = 7.897
1/4 = 9.425
mph = 146.81
so for a first pass of the day I will take the shakedown pass as a good one other then the light...

Well second time run felt a little better and ran like this.
RT = .016 not even close to the bye run...
60' = 1.556 personal best with this set up!
330 = 4.015
1/8 = 6.065
mph = 119.71
1000 = 7.857
1/4 = 9.394
mph = 145.70 it was a hot day and everyone's mph was down 2-4mph. mine has been a little lower then I would like but I have gained 10 more lbs and I weigh in at 240 now in shorts. and the bike has a 6" over arm again instead of the 8" over.
So I am not 100% of what I should dial the first round but I figure that the 1.55 short was abnormal but I decide to let her eat and dial in a 9.39 for the first round. I had to race a ZX-11 who was dialed in at 10.41, but these guys like to sandbag a little... insert snake bite here. dont take this the wrong way but if you ever race me DO NOT SANDBAG! unless you can cut .015 light consistantly... just a little warning.
so here is a shake down of eliminations round 1
RT = .020 his .078
60' = 1.576
330 = 4.036
1/8 = 6.088
mph = 119.44
1000 = 7.881
1/4 = 9.422
mph = 145.23
and He ran a 10.340 on the 10.41 dial.....
Well the .020 light was enough to get me the bye in the second round with an odd # of bikes!!!! Yes.
Here is my second round run
RT = .102 LOL.. yea I dont know what the hell I was doing.
60' = 1.564
330' = 4.028
1/8 = 6.084
mph = 119.34
1000' = 7.883
1/4 = 9.427
mph = 145.34
Well I have to say I think I know what my dial in is going to be next round.....
I have to say thanks here to Osti33, he treed the #1 guy with a .001 light also giving him the bye into the final of streetbike.. Thanks Ryan.

3 round
Well 3rd round comes and I get paired with one of the best street bike racers that I know. he was the track champion last year. Larry Sarges is his name and he was dialed a 9.35. I dialed a 9.42. I left and Larry caught me right away and I did not start pulling on him untill the the 1000' but by then I was just inching along. here is the run.
RT = .069
60' = 1.585
330' = 4.027
1/8 = 6.079
mph = 119.24
1000' = 7.876
1/4 = 9.420 yes that is a perfect time of a 9.42 with a 0.
mph = 145.05
Larry had a RT of a .030 and ran a 9.355 on his 9.35... for the win by .0342... If I would have beat larry I would have been tied in 1st for the points race.... but as I have been told more then once... This is Racing and it is a matter of inches or thousandths of a second. and in this case I was 35 thousandths short on the tree.....so if I would have had a .034 light or better I would have won..... but if they called it winning everyone would do it...

Sunday last chance at a championship
Yes it was sunday and it was the last race for the year... my last shot at a championship!! first off it felt hotter then yesterday and I hate the heat!! I got to much sleep and did not drink enough beer I think....
first time trial.
RT = .038
60' = 1.699 ?? the track was stickery then a bee hive in alabama in august!! bike bogged real bad
330' = 4.064
1/8 = 6.113
mph = 119.67
1000' = 7.907
1/4 = 9.445
mph = 145.52
after this pass I decided to bring the rpm's up a little and I should have put a couple of pounds of air in the tire but I second guessed myself and just went with the higher rpm launch... here is my second pass. Oh I broke the cardnal rule of not changing anything important and switched seats with Osti33 to see how his would work. it was a cut out seat. this put me about an inch more forward on the bike.
RT = .098
60' = 1.63 bike bogged again not as bad but bad still
330' = 4.105
1/8 = 6.169
mph = 118.79
1000' = 7.975
1/4 = 9.525
mph = 144.38
after the bike bogged it picked up the front wheel and I had to feather out the throttle to keep the front down.

1st round sunday
So the guy in first goes up and No one lines up next to him so I decide there is not time like the present to try and take him out and tie him in the process.
as luck would have it he got another and I was right behind him in the lanes. He goes up and Bang big old Red Light...... now here is my chance to tie him up for the championship.. I line up and pre-stage, then stage, first yellow, second yellow, loose concentrations ???? Have no freaking idea who/what/why!!, Oh shit third Yellow....
RT = .017RED!!!!!!SHIT!!!! the entire year, points chase everything came down to one pass! and I go .-017 red.... here is the run down of the pass.
60' = 1.599
330' = 4.077
1/8 = 6.143
mph = 118.95
1000' = 7.950
1/4 = 9.502
mph = 144.04
This left me with 68 points and there were two guys tied in first with 69. they had a run off for the track championship and the guy who redlit before me won the race... all and all it was a great season, I had a few oppertunities but could not capitilize on them, so I am proud to say that I ended up with a #3 plate holder for the Hardcore Dragbike series...I would have prefered the #1 but wait till next year!
