Shootout Tire users-How many passes?
Just a wondering bout how many passes yall are getting out of you super sticky shootout tires. Nothing exact, just ballpark figure would be helpful. Not sure if I want a tire that will only last 30 passes. I'm talking 9 second bikes here, not record setting 7 second bad boys. Thanks

MCR2 - 40 and counting; plenty of tread left.

I haven't payed close enough attention...maybe because I don't buy/PAY for the tires...LOL...
Anyway...I think I got 50+ runs when we were at +4"...
I noticed that they don't last as long for me with the +6" though...neither do the clutches
I'd say I still get 40+ now though...

Where can I find one? How much? And can I ride it to the track?

I haven't paid much attention either, but I did pick up a used MT from Kent Stotz at Prostar in November, and it supposedly had 9 (brutal...) passes on it then. It looked pretty good to me. (Turns out it was impossible to balance, but that's another issue- not too uncommon I'm told) Anyway, I just tallied 47 slips since then, and I just ordered one today (Spencercycle.com, $195 to door). I probably smoke it too much however, and I also have about 500, not-so-easy street miles on it. I was told by MT that it was good for 1500 street miles. If you have a spare wheel to swap, and do a conservative burnout, I estimate 75-100 passes. 'Course with your MOUNTAIN motored 12, it might be a different story...

Thanks Dean for purchasing your parts from us. I agree with you 75-100 passes. We go throught about 3 tires a season on the shootout bike. For the weekend racer just bracket racing or doing time trails they will last awhile. Once you use these tires there is no going back, nothing compares to them.
Thanks

Good deal. I was thinking Shinko or the harder compound Mickey but I'd probably regret it. Extra rim got here today. Be hollerin at ya, Doug.

MT
Ours lasted less than 20 runs on our rough old tracks and with an overly-long (6+") arm. It's a good tyre, but needs a smooth track not to get ripped to pieces. Ours was howling at the finish at our local track, but set the outright course record ahead of any slick/bar bike.

on the street with a 6 over, you will probably need a high performance shock, I even spun with my MT1 tire. with my MT2 it runs good now and dosent spin to much on the street.
