1/4 miles times
hey im back new name former draggsxr750 i have a questions. I have gotten my bike in the low 6.7 range with 1.65 60 this is 1/8 mile times trap speeds somewhere in the 108 to 110 range. Ok here is the deal im going to the ROCK to a test and tune never ran a 1/4 and im looking for a time to shoot for any ideas. Just a resonable figure to try and acheive lol 8 sec notttt. Just and idea would be great. Thats a gsxr 1000 155.7 rwh . I guess you could take in consideration that im running my bike a wilkesboro dragway which is quite a bit higher than at charlotte where lee mapped it. thanks

I dont think 155 horsepower is gonna get you into the 8's. Should run down in the 9's fairly handily though.. with a good launch and 330 time..

Not to be mean, but with a 6.7 @ 110 your looking at high 9's if it's running really good on the back half.
Just found an old ticket 6.57@113.62 turned into 10.03@140.87 .
~30 mph is typical gain for the back half.
I'd say shoot for a 9.90
ymmv.
good luck.

6.7 @ 110mph puts you in the 10.20- 10.30 range about 138mph.
It's all in the 330ft time.

right, but he asked for a resonable figure to try for.
I think a gsxr1000 with 155hp should run high 9.7s with
a good 60' and 330'.

good is relative to the bike length, but at 300# i'd say 4.2s would be very good for 330. 60' is just a pointer the 330' is the key!

dragg -- shorten the wheelbase to 60" and ride the hell outta it. slam and strap it and you'll be in the 9.80's in no time (well maybe in 6 months or so)...

I have an 04 ZX10, last weekend it went:
60' - 1.61
330 - 4.177
1/8 - 6.27 @ 116.99
1000 - 8.113
1/4 - 9.687 @ 140.81
It did this with a slipping clutch (note only a 24 mph gain in the back half)
I put it on the trailer right after this run cause it slipped pretty bad on the way back to the pits. Oh, it had a Micron slip on and down two teeth in the front. everything else is stock.

I got probably got 60 plus passes out of this clutch. I did about 10 the day before in Hallsville Tx. to play around, and then I did about 4 runs in Red River and noticed it slipping on the way back through the pits, hit the gas and it revs and moves slowly.....Can't complain when I pull consistant low 1.6 high 1.5 60's and run consistantly in the 6.3 range. That's alot of passes. Just picked the wrong day to go out.....lol.

6.27 actually. My previous best was a 6.29. It is stock wheelbase right now. I weigh about 140- 145 with all my gear.
I just read up on Ryan web page on how he launches and it's quite different from mine, so I am going to try his way next time out.
