Need some nos help please!

I have a 1290 carpenter motor with headwork, cams, etc. I've run a best of 9.95@142 at a mile high dragstrip. I weigh 230 lb's suited up. 1.58 60ft and 16-47 gearing running thru forth gear, (footshifting). shinko tire, dropped 2 inchs and stretched 3 inch's out back.
I run the stock clutch basket.

From my reading most people say that a dry kit set up properly will reduce my et's .2 (40 hp jet) if i use nos asap (top of first gear or beginnning of second)

My questions are: What's the highest hp I can attain with nos and not blow up stuff. How long will the motor hold up. (assume a healthy motor)Which kit would you recommend? Do i need anything else above what comes with the kit. I would like to be able to shave off .5 if thats possible.
A little of kilter hear but would there be any benefit to increase my gearing to run it thru 5th instead? thanks in advance.

mph seem a little low.
might want to try another map or custom mapping before adding nitrous. IMO.

You want a 9.45 , right?
Airshifter and a 40hp shot should do that with ease, and not kill the motor,
EVEN at a mile high track.

40 hp is very safe. I have been running a 40 hp shot on the 1270 for a couple years with NO issues.

50 hp is just at the edge of the safe limit. Ryan Schnitz stated that we could get away with the 50hp but we don't want to take the risk to be changing bearings anytime soon.

Schnitz Racing sells the complete kit with all fittings and bottle (1 lb bottle fits in the trunk). If you spray NOS, you will be in at least 5th crossing the traps. You want to cross the traps in the top of a gear (not wasting time shifting / building power). The ZX12 builds great mid-high range power so that is where you want to be.

Have you checked your clutch plates lately??? What exhaust do you have on the bike?

That bike should be running at least 9.50- 9.60's now with you on it! At least 9.20's-9.30's with the 40hp shot. My 1270 Motor Only - I ran 9.30's (being a lightweight) and kzz1 is running 9.40's (almost 200lbs suited).

BTW: I just looked and you are in New Mexico!!!

You might need a cool night to get your times down......Humidity and heat just kill the power!!!

Your map is fine....You are very close to your "Uncorrected" H.P. at 142 trap speed. Especially at a mile high!

OR!!! You could come down to Phoenix this fall and run at Friebird w/ us!

Your uncorrected H.P. should come up at least 10%!!

Or you could have ECS dyno tune it for bike week . . .

NMRA will have an event at www.SpeedworldMotorplex.com

That track is fast, you should run quicker down there.

Sorry RED....The bike was already tuned at NVH in phoenix on a MJP Dyno.

ECS maps are usually too lean...............As seen on the MJP at NVH!
