head shakes

Got my first head shake Wed. nite, scared the shit out of me!Ever since I started laying down on the tank to launch,it's been pulling wheelies in 1st and 2nd.I came down from 1st with wheel cocked,WOW!Lost a whole .18 on my ET although at the time I felt greatful just for being able to ride it out.The good news is I was running steady 10.20s so I picked up a 10th.I have big hope now of hitting my goal of breaking into the 9s by the end of the year.I know I know

(triple Ps)

Mike - what damper are you using. We're down to 9.25/153 but on rough tracks head shake is bad enough to make you abort the run.

Get a damper or risk spending several months on two wheels full time like me, not on a motorcycle but in a wheelchair! Muzzys damper will set you straight, it's worth every penny.

Pay particular attention to your form when launching, don't strive so hard to go faster, rather practice proper technique, the ET will come once you've mastered the moves. Coming out of the hole wheel up and bars not straight = asking for trouble.

Ain't got no bars - its a streetbike Bergie. Taking your advice about the Muzzy damper though. Sorry to hear your bad news. Keith and Lorcan (UK's fastest father and son team (204 and 205.5 mph respectively).

I think thats where the problem started was with a different technique,Iwas trying to raise my feetsies up and tugged on the bars.Any problem with the steering dampner interfering with the bar harness when tying it down to a trailer?

Solved problem today by launching with one foot on the peg.No wheelies,no problem lifting foot as I could use the other for leverage.
