1/4 mile times; stock engine;mods?

A friend who rides a Busa Just brought a 01 zx12r. He's dropping it off to me tomorrow for some mods. Looking for exhaust and HP mods to impress. The faster on a streetable stock motor the better. Any Ideas?

thanks I thinking about 16-44 for the gearing; pciiir;muzzy blockoff plates;k&n filters;muzzy clutch;& either muzzy or Akrapovic exhaust. His busa runs mid to high 9's and I want to make him think about it after running the 12.

Put in the BMC air filters, Akrapovic for a smoother idle and steady RPM...

This is one of the best mods you will do to the performance of the 2000/01 ZX12...Get an OEM 2002 clutch hub # 13087-1183...6 OEM clutch springs # 92144-1881...12 OEM frictions # 13088-1131 and 11 OEM 1.6 steel plates # 13089-1123!!!

With the clutch set up above, check out my ET/MPH below!!!

I went 9.59 @ 149.66 mph and backed it up with a 9.59 @ 148.99 the same day on a stock 2000 zx12r, stock engine/wheelbase- only mod was muzzys pipe, lowered/strapped and 17T front sprocket, that's it! No pc3r, no tuning, no advance, no special fuels, using stock filters, stock clutch, stock everything and @ 200+ lbs suited, the stock 12 proved it can trap even with a fat guy on it! It's all about dont be scared.

Thanks everyone. The guy dropped his bike off tonight. CR's build-up is really close to what I had in mind. I myself have a 2000 green zx12r, That I found in the classified ads here about two years ago. Belonged to Jesse1 before that. ,

best i ever did w/stock arm, stock motor, pumpgas, just strapped/lowered w/Akro was 9.63@146, backed up w/9.65@145. That was Aug 2001 and I was 235-240# suited at the time. I envy you 9.5 guys!

Started work on the bike today. He just does not believe a 12r can run those numbers. I offered to let him try my bike in the 1/4 but he said he will wait to see what his will do. He's loyal to the busa but I think the few street races he witnessed my bike in is giving him second thoughts.

Also, They had a guy from one of the local bike shops looking at my bike really good with a flashlight. The best he could come up with is the gaskets appear to be stock.

I'll keep you guess posted on the results.

lower; cat removed from stock pipe; D&D muffler;94 octane: tiger tail added.

After taking it out for a ride he decided not to put anymore money in the bike. just not happy with it. 17 tooth spocket and muzzy plates ordered. but it may not make it on the bike.

Thanks everyone for your ideas.

Get the 94 octane outta the gas tank

17t will be the biggest butt dyno improvement.

...but whatever, he'll be on SH.org talkin about how shitty the bike is in no time flat

stock head pipe still?? no front sprocket?? Depending upon what he is used to feeling, it just might feel like a pooch.

...and my POS 12R only goes 9.3-9.4 on stock WB and stock motor.

Maybe I should look for a faster Heya-boosa.

We know Jessi 1...Didn't know until now that you bought his 12. Bring your 12 to Milan Dragway the first Friday of the month for the heads up streetbike shootout. ZX12 Girl and I will be running. She will be on the Bus and I will be on the 12. Need more 12's out there racing. Too many Busa's and old school GSXR's beating up the few 12's that show up.
