Mother Nature Stop my 8.999 pass...Damn!
So, Its Hump day....Looks cloudy by our house but clear to the north where the track is....So off to the track with the Busa. We have had many small issues since we put the motor back together..Finally got the bike running almost up to par....still need to build a map (3000-3500 rough as hell and top end just not right).
Off the trailer, I ran a 9.48 just feeling the bike out....No Issues! Look out....Next pass 9.21...The bike is running and I am hooking...Here are the next two passes -
Got happy with a red light
1.597 ---60 ft
4.002 ---330 ft
5.591 ---594 ft
5.947 --- 1/8 ET
126.35--- 1/8 MPH
9.074 --- 1/4 ET
156.25--- 1/4 MPH
1.578 ---60 ft
3.966 ---330 ft
5.553 ---594 ft
5.908 --- 1/8 ET
126.81--- 1/8 MPH
9.035 --- 1/4 ET
155.29--- 1/4 MPH
Just when I am ready to give it hell and hit that 8.999....This dark cloud comes over and just screwed it all up!!! Friday better be a nice day....I am about sick of these 9.000's.
Plus....once I hit 8.999 on motor, I get the button...then on to the 8.70's

Angie, our Queen! You are ROCKING!
two very consistent passes, and it's a shame the last one didn't get you to yr 8.999. You gained .036 in the 330' and i'm surprised that gain didn't translate into a bigger gain at the traps??? Did weather change a bit? 1 mph seems to have disappeared also. The 330's tell all, eh? Looks like you need about a 3.940 next weekend!

Let me try to understand how you feel about being this close?
I turn 60 on 10/21/03 and go to Maxton to run 200 MPH. I run 199.353 max speed! Naw I guess I just cannot get into being close and no cigar! Hey Daughter #1, I really agree with Entropy on that last run because you were really gaining everywhere and maybe the "Head Wind" stopped you just short!

I agree...Being close....SUCKS! I have been too close for too long....
This is what I believe that I did wrong on these two passes-
9.07 pass....Tagged the limiter on the 2-3 shift.
9.03 pass....Had just a little struggle getting back on the pegs (with all the issues, I am not used to this bike pulling so hard)...So there I go into 3rd gear acting like a wind sail....Then 3-4 shift I shifted about 500rpms too early. Weather changed a little (cooler) and a little more wind. Do not know what direction.
I know the bike will run 8.90's (butt dyno)...Now I just need to put it there. It will help also when we get the bike mapped properly. I normally launch at 3500 but I have to bump it up to 4500 because it is just nasty at 3500. One of the guys also said they heard it bog at launch so I think that I am dipping into the rough 3500 spot when I am launching.
LOL.....I can always analyze what I did wrong. If I was only as good at corrective My issues.

63" wheelbase. A little over 200hp prior to the head issue. I am hoping for 215 after we get it mapped properly.

D#1, It is like joining the 200 MPH Club. If I do not do it at the end of this month, I may have to go over 210 to set a record. I think I found 1 class that I can still run 200 and get into the club! That also bothers me! The difference in your case is when you run 8.99 you will have joined the 8 second club. In my case I may have to go over 210 or 215 just to join the "200" MPH Club! You First!
