Found out Last night!
I have been Officially sponsored by Interstate for my 2nd season! and they gave me one hell of a nice trophy to boot! just thought id share with my good buddies!!

Mike, that's awesome! But what exactly does that mean? Do they pay for your entry fees and travel expenses? I was wondering how you went about approaching them and what exactly you asked for so that I might follow suit with other potential sponsors.

thanks everyone, and bergie, not sure if you know or not but I work for a division of the company. so that helped out with the first original deal, but I did very well last year for my first year nationally, so they were happy, they have given me X amount of $ and No it dosent cover everything, my goal is to grow bigger and do better every year so that one day it might be the company gold card for racing? but right now im at least in the tunnel! and there is a light at the end of it but it is very very small. but I can see it. I do not have much experience at this so Im just winging it! but Im learning all of the time. First off you cant just walk in and say hey I race bikes, give me 5K.. LOL... you have to sell what you can do for the company your calling on! and do a portfolio! tell them how your going to promote them! actually they are buying advertising time from you!! unless you know some millionare that just loves motorcycle dragracing, and if you do tell me his name! LOL.. i would definatly talk to the places you spend $$$ at, auto dealer!, local resturants, Bars, tattoo joints, motorcycle shops, Gas stations. and some one once told me appreciate everything someone offers you! but make sure your fair! if someone gives your 2K dont give them the same billing on your bike and trailer that someone who gave you 200 bucks! I just try and promote all of my sponsors! and show them that their $ is not going to waste. ive seen people that damage you and I by getting good sponsors and not even sending them a thank you letter! shit the only time they talk to the sponsors is when they need something! stupid! and then they look at someone like us and say get the hell out! Well Just a small thoughts on what I have done, I am actually working On a couple of other Major sponsors, if they work out I will let everyone know. good luck and if you would like me to, I can send you a copy of my portfolio so you can check it out? let me know.

Hey Mike, Hope you can make time in your busy schedule for the Street Bike Nationals at Earlville this season. I'll drop you a line when it's happening. Lot's of money up for grabs, and you can run multiple classes.
