24V starter diagram
I need to the wiring instruction to make the starter run off of 24volts.

no diagram but here we go:
from the starter solenoid to the secound bat. negative(-)
from the positive(+) of the secound battery to the starter.
now you have a 24v starting system

So, let me repeat this to make sure i am visualizing corectly.....
leave the first battery connected "AS IS"?? Then add the Neg(-) of the 2nd batt to the side of the relay that the Pos(+) of the OEM batt connects and then add the Pos(+) of the 2nd batt to the other side of the relay that goes to the starter.
If I am correct, will this create a circuit loop putting 24V in the whole system when you hit the starter?

nope,
just "break" the circuit that goes from the relay to the starter, put the 2nd battery in series with that circuit. the - side of the 2nd battery should be attached towards the relay, the + side towards the starter.
That way the 2nd battery only is used when you hit the starter button. BUT, it is not charged, so you prolly want to put a pig-tail on the second battery so you can easily charge it.

If I do it that way, will it try and engage the starter when I try to charge the second battery?

nope connect your battery tender or charger of sort and just plug in when needed
