Thanks Doug Meyer and Muzzys!

Doug thanks for taking the time today to answer my questions for me and explain it in great detail.

Not looking forward to clearancing(sp)(if that's even a word) that case however...

It is great customer service like today that keeps me coming back to Muzzy's!!

Thanks again,
Ryan

I think the first gen 1317 billet blocks need to have the lower case clearanced. The 2nd gen blocks dont..

I have to grind on my lower case some because one of the nuts on my rod bolts hits the case with my stroker crank.

My bike is an 02. Not a first gen bike.

Doug told me this is not a real common problem but it does happen.

I'm just lucky I guess...

Yes there is not much room in there! I noticed a small rub mark on the inside of my case. and that was when my bearing spun and I believe the end of my crank was tweeked slightly. so we are only talking a few thousandths, and it touched....
Doug is a way smart guy! everytime I speak with him I want to record it cause I know that I am missing something!

Ah I see, what I meant by 1st gen billet blocks wasnt year specific. They changed the design of the later billet block kits so that its a direct bolt on deal and you dont have to do ANY case clearancing....

My mistake. I thought you were saying billet blocks on fisrt gen bikes needed case clearancing.

Thanks,
Ryan

thanks to Doug Meyer and Muzzy's

I would like to add my thanks to Doug Meyer for all the advice he gave me when I was building my 1270 2-1/2 years ago. He was always willing to take time to answer a question and explain what he was reccomending. The bike ran flawlessly for app. 19,300 miles. I Rode it all over the southeastern US with no problems until Dec. 28th 2003 when a guy in a ford van turned left in front of me on a rural Indiana road and I totaled the bike. It was the best running street bike I have ever owned (best 1/4 mph was 154.5 with consistent 152+ runs).
