QUESTION FOR YOU MTC LOCK-UP GUYS

What springs and plates are you running? I was told to go back to using the stock clutch springs rather than the HD springs I have now. Also, will I still need to use the 2mm steels or can I go back to using the stock 1.6mm.

Cheers

NM

keep 2mm steels to combat warping, how long is your bike, this will depend on what springs to use....

I would use stockers or maybe the med/soft springs from MTC

Ok guys what about my drilled hub and my puller shaft with the flat spot on it to allow greater oil flow. Do I need these or is the oil flow no longer a issue with the lock-up.

Cheers Guys

the MTC lockup should come with a longer puller shaft which has already been machined. The bearing in the cover will now seat the puller shaft....

You just added a lock up which has nothing to do with the oil getting on to the clutch plates. So you do need your drilled hub or an 02-04 hub.

i have a mtc, 2 stage but only have 2 passes on it. using OEM springs and 2mm steels, Oem fibers. The clutch is too soft and as soon as I get back to the track I will get more spring pressure one way or another. btw, 10" arm.

Entropy why need you not get the Multi stage from MTC and do you use the Muzzy ecu box?

I didn't get the multistage after talking to everyone who would stand still. My 10" arm launched GREAT, but i wanted to be sure that i wasn't getting clutch slippage on the big end. So a simple 2 stage seemed right for me (and it's cheaper).

Once I get the spring pressure sorted out, I think the 2 stage will suit my purposes.

I do not have a Muzzy ECU, although it would be a ball to set up, see the recording of performance, etc.

This year I am wanting to spend track time, not garage time, so i am trying to keep things simple.

You have a 1427, right. Are you spraying it? If you can run some 8.30's you should be in their to be competitive.
