seat altering
I just brought my seat over to the upolstery shop to have some foam taken out and gel pad added. My motive is to keep me from sliding forward and give me more room to tuck in.Any opinions on how much to cut or experience in altering the shape of the back.
I am thinking of eliminating the slope so that there is just a step. The shop won't get to it until late March so I have time for changes.thanx By the way,I'm 6'6" 265lbs.

I use a stock seat with no cover or padding for the track, works great for me...but then I'm not 6'6 either.

at 6 6 you cant do much beyond the seat unless you want to cut a hole in your tank. I have altered the shock height on some zx12s, one being so low that you cant turn faster than walking speed without scraping....it will work well for the strip, but not on the street.

Theres a guy who has cut a Busa tank, but its not legal in any competition DragRacing...
Alive...If you sit far back in the seat, it makes changing gears harder during racing due to the increased angle of your leg...

As it is,I made my own rear sets,1/2"higher and 1 1/2"offset.Without them I would slide forward while riding, causing me to sit up straight.I want to try reversing the plates for 1/2" lower than stock but I believe the pipe will cause a clearance problem. How hard is it to launch with rear sets and will that unsettle the bike by raising the legs that high?

You have a modified zx12 tank? If so, did you modify it to lower the seat and also remove some of the tank curve angle?
