woo-hoo, amidst problems success!
I've got just 4 passes on my new 2 stage lockup and it sure doesn't give me the jolt off the line like my 6 heavy springs did on the regular clutch. hmmmm maybe put 3 heavy springs in???
But, despite my lockup clutch I got an 8.875 @155.9 on a rather shitty (w/10" arm) 1.502 60'.
When I get back to 1.45's, it might be possible for this founding member of TFA to pull an 8.7; do I dare to hope???
Anyway, WOO-HOO!!! first time in the 8.8's!!!!

Thx, guys
the MTC 2 stage is very smooth, seems too smooth off the line for my fat ass. VERY light clutch lever... hmmmm, i will try putting 3 of the muzzy springs back in it.
60'______1.502
330'_____3.842
1/8______5.766
1/8 mph__127.78
1000'____7.447
1/4______8.875
mph_____155.92
And, yes Dean, I really AM on a diet (the Atkins "scotch & highly salted fat stuff diet"), and am down to 235# suited; aiming at 220.001# suited.

There is a local guy here that would drool over those incrementals.
He weighs as much as you.. .but thinks with a 1361 and a whole lotta nitrous...he can get in the .70s..

CR: snap & slide good bye for now... sniff...snifff, i'll miss you.
krexx, big un-aero head, indeed! I have to special order my helmets.
Mike, I think you are right about the mph. There was a 15mph wind, a little head, but mostly side. I was shielded by the stands until after the 1/8 or so.
On my 1st pass i went very soft outa the hole, as it was the first time i had ever launched with the lockup. It did 9.007 @ 155.8 but had 130mph 1/8 !!!. I didn't believe the number, but the guy i raced said his 1/8th looked normal??? go figure.
CR: tell yr bud to get a 10" arm... hehehehehehe

Hey.... I'll actually be in your neck of the woods in a couple weeks. Is there a track near McAllen that I could catch a race during the week? (Sun - Thurs).

Angi,
track near Mcallen???? hmmmmm.... maybe Monterrey, Mexico???
really, i have no idea; quite a ways from Houston.
I won't know if i like the lockup until i experiment some more. Gotta shim the springs and see if that makes it jump off the line better.
But experimenting will have to wait at least 2 weeks, i'm leaving today in search of FF miles: Hou-Bangkok-Mumbai-Kuwait-Saudi-Qatar-Hou, back on 26th. If I don't have to go to Yokohama on the 28th i'll hit the track and do lockup experiments.
How are you getting to Mcallen? taking a commuter outa SanAntonio or Houston? When exactly?

Flying out next Sunday (22nd - 26th). I am there on business so I will be working most of the time. I just thought that I may be able to take a night out.
I'll have to look at my flight plan tomorrow and let you know. I think that it is out of Houston.
First time in McAllen....Is it like BFE or what????
"Hou-Bangkok-Mumbai-Kuwait-Saudi-Qatar-Hou"....That sounds like a trip from hell.... Have fun!!!

angie,
if you go thru Houston, maybe i can at least buy you a drink between flights on yr return flights??? (i'm coming into IAH at 5:32pm on 26th)
After 30 hrs of airplanes and airports, i just arrived in Bangkok a few hrs ago (at midnight), but don't waste any pity on me on a "trip from hell". Tonight my bud Charlie and I are going to the "No Hands Restaurant"...
Before you ask, no, it is not staffed by parapalegics.

Nope! I fly to Tulsa then on to Dallas.
I'll have to make this trip about 3 times a year so maybe on the next round I'll schedule a flight into Houston.
Have fun on your trip. I'd go crazy being in-transit for that many hours...

hopefully.....Im awaiting my turbo parts STILL.....if the header is completed within the next week Id say there is a great chance I will be there in the 60 inch class. To dominate.....
My ZX12 would be together but my crank is tied up in a core charge FOR Buddy's 60 inch bike. So, I now have to wait for him to put that bike together before I can assemble mine.....but what are friends for....I guess.
If I have time I will bring them both and run the 12 in SBS just for shits and grins.....
If all fails I will have to wait one race, but Im not expecting that. Ive got nearly everything right now, Im just hoping the misc. stuff I have to get doesnt eat up all my cash!
