Yea whats up KID? I just want 2 tell u that your choice for a bike is right 12's and 13's top of the food chain actually most bikes r cool ,but thats not the point of topic here quit thinkin about any other exhaust sys! MUZZYS baby thats the only way to go for a non turbo bike. period my good friend has a grn 00' 12r w/ a 1270 kit/dyno pc3r and a full s.s./carbon fiber Hindle sys. weak! not to put the company to shame but those Akr.pipes sound a little better than those a MUZZYS slip on sounds better! but hey not just for sound but performance,if u have any more concerns just ask out. I recommend the Muzzy as well....we carry both around teh same price. Muzzys have made more power on our dyno...on the ZX12r and Busas

i have a used step hindle for sale it is 8months old and you can get it right. muzzy makes an excellent pipe. i took mine off. took out the k&n and went with bmc filters. and the hindle. it made more hp on the top but for track purposes i lost some of my 60' times. not much but its important at the track. i picked up 2 mph in the qtr. times are about the same lost in 1 spot gain in another. i would still faver the muzzy overall i have payed the price of both pipes to know this. now its time to go real big. since the zx10 is on the way for my daily bike. my 12 will remain the king. i was at the limit for a daily driver and race bike combo. and its a lot of work back and forth. the zx10 will resolve that.

this is what I've been saying everytime the opportunity pops up!

Just for note, the Muzzy isn't the ONLY pipe that would have given you the 2mph in the quarter mile. You were only getting back what you should have had from the get-go.

the hindle is the one that gave me the fastest mph the muzzy was faster on short times so thats where the diffrence was. i had to stall at 6500 rpm. for the hindle and about 4500 5000 for the muzzy.

I have a graph with a 1270 Kit and Ti Muzzy and my stock 2000 ZX12 and a step Hindle. Taken on the same day about 4 hours apart in the evening.

Same Dyno and operator and tweeked to the Hilt on the 1270 and as I put the bike on the machine and no changes. Bergie was there also. Bergie made 180 HP on a totally stock ZX12 (No PC, Filters, Stacks or anything)

Thanks Richard. Just under178 HP with the bike right out of Bike week traffic and the engine temp way high and the heat and Humidity of Florida to boot (Read not temp stabilized on the dyno, nor good air conditions). It did make the most HP of anyone that put their bikes up on the dyno including Dave in Daytona who had his bike tuned on the dyno I was using and he has a Muzzy pipe.

Who was it that made about 174 Hp with nothing but a pipe? Was that Voz?

It must only have a preference for the Hindle Pipe, because the 1270 kit and Muzzy pipe barely got over 180 HP, or do you think that is "Big Numbers" for that bike also?? Please reply.

I also remember when Road Racers were changing from Large Drum Brakes to Disc Brakes and they also went "Slower" (At first!) You knew how to ride the 190+ HP and more hp means more changes to go faster

obviously something wrong with that 1270...

and as far as 180 SAE outa a "totally stock" motored 12, NO pipe no nuthin.... maybe with no chain, no wheel, no tire...

Hey vince, you get riled too easy.

YOU know, and Bergie certainly knows, that you gotta be careful in judging the relative merit of dyno numbers.

its kinda like:

YOUR neighbor says YOUR wife is beautiful
bahahahahahahah

vince i love ya man. but all i do is on the track, 8hp doesnt usually throw someone out of their learning curve. the problem is simple the larger headtubes demands a diffrent launch range without bogging. the bike was mapped to both pipes. i get custom mapping everytime i change anything. the 330 ft. tmes and the 1000 ft times are about the same. if i run qtr. the run balances back out on the big end if i run 1/8 the bike is slower. i paid good money to learn this.

ENT, The Totally stock Bike if you looks at the chart had the Stepped Hindle. Everything else was stock.

It depends on Where the 8 HP was made and how different the power curve is. Brock Davidson changed the power curve by removing the divider plate which he feels makes the pipe better for Drag Racing.

Sad to say, mine only done 169hp on a DJ150. Doesn't matter though, it should be around 205hp next month !

Exactly. That being said the dyno chart above is accurate. But also accurate is the other dyno chart(s) on my website showing that my 2000 only made 167rwhp stock engine with aftermarket Muzzys pipe.

What dyno charts don't tell you is that my '01 which measured 180rwhp on a DJ250 with the Hindle pipe went 9.6 @ 148mph and my '00 which measured 169rwhp on a DJ150 went back to back 9.59s @ 148.99 and 149.66 mph.

What does it all mean? Absolutely nothing except I have two bikes and ran them on different dynos and the results were very different yet the performance was near identical at the track.

The dyno is a tool to compare mods before and after, tuning and nothing more.

Comparing my bike to your bike to his bike to their bikes output on any given dyno is just a waste of time really.

How fast it goes; the trap speed it records at the track is where the comparisons really count.

1bad12r your bikes output is dead on for a piped 12R on a DJ150. I had two, one made 167rwhp with just a pipe, the other made 171 with pipe and advancer. Both went 9.5-9.6 stock wheelbase only other mods being one-tooth-down front sprocket and lowering. That was 4 years ago!

i kinda think I got jerked off on my #'s because he never gave me a sheet on these #'s. A friend done it for me in his off time as a favor. Wished I knew where a dj250 was close to N. Alabama.
