NOS QUESTION
I am looking to activate my nitrous by way of a microswitch on the throttle body which kicks in at WOT. How can I insure that the nitrous does not come in when I dont want it like 1st or 2nd gear?.
Cheers

How about a Dyna shift counter to activate a relay arming your solenoids after a specified gear change. Or you could run the spray off a button if you wanted to go simple.

use your highbeam as master arming switch
it's easy enough to reach at any given point flip it and it's on, so you run 1-2 WOT n/a then flip it, boom WOT switch kicks in the juice. This mod would be free.

it would be just as easy to put it on the starter or horn button.
Safer to, if you think it might get in the nos before your ready.

In my system, I arm the system before launch. The have a Micro Switch so the the NOS will only work at WOT, "PLUS" I must hit the button also! This way if I get into trouble and the normal thing is to let off a little, the NOS if off and I am in control again!
The neat thing here was the Button went bad and I was able to bypass the button. If I had really been on my game, I would not have armed the system at the start and when I hit 4th gear, turn the system on and I really would have been in business!

If you want to spend some money look into the DNOC by Zukinut, it's one of the best values out there and I believe they offer a gear-select feature

How about putting on the horn button, and only press the button once you are @ full throttle?

The reason I cant have the nos on the horn button is because my air shifter button is on that side too. I tried using the start button too but my thumb on my right hand cant reach it. Activating the nos at WOT is what I want.
Bergie I think I will try what you suggest and see how I get along, cheers

Just FYI; I installed a Zukinut DNOC on my ZRX last month, and it doesn't have a gear select feature. Nice unit though.

Hmm I've heard they have both gear and time units available now? They are two different units. Let me find out.

The reason for me is. My right hand is educated, but my left one is not! If you start to lose traction, what is the "1st" thing you do? You let off the throttle! If you let off and still have your thumb on the button, that milisecond may just be enough to throw you down the road and maybe lean out your engine and throw it down the road also!

I KNOW THE ANSWER!!!!
Use the gear position switch to activate a relay that closes when you are in first (add another for second if you wish)and denies power to the nos solenoid.
You need a small 5v relay, put 5v on one side of the coil and the other side of the coil on the selected (1st) gear wire going to the gear position switch. When you select that gear, the switch closes to ground thus allowing current to flow through your relay coil causing it to close.
From there just wire through the relays N/C contact to your nos relay/actication circuit - in series.
When not in first gear it will be just like the relay isin't there.
I have one for first gear to give me about a 1/4 nos shot, another in second for a 1/2 shot and in third and above I just get a full shot. Works great and costs just about nothing.
