VH, I'll see whats new in the OCC coral. Last year there was a nice blond in there.

Last year was very low key by almost all the factories I thought.
Only a few of the usual elaborate stages etc.

We'll see who has the nicest chicks this year.

The hartford show isnt the same show. Its just a local dealer/vender show with 90% taiwan leather and Harley knockoff junk. Theres usually some nice custom built harley type bikes thou.
The NY show is the factories showcases with thier finest propaganda machines (chicks) in action. Very different. Some years better than others thou.
Our group is heading over to the ESPN zone in times square for after show "activities". At least i dont have to drive this year so i can have a few extra beers! I seem to ride the GSXR, in the ESPN zone, much better with several beers. Maybe i'll win this year.

Well, i didnt get near the OCC trailer trucks and display. I didnt get to the back corner were they were untill it was mobed.
To anyone thats going today or tomorrow, get there early and go right to the rt rear corner and check them out first. Because it will be mobbed quickly. I did see thru the crowd, a busty blond. There was a 200 ft line just to walk by the display and a guy with a pa system and cops keeping the line moving and keeping people from line jumping. What a difference a TV show and 1 year can make. Last year they had a corral like everyone else and just a few people looking on.

All 5 zx-10's were pre production on the floor for all to sit on etc. They are small. Dino, you better get making an adjustable rear set ASAP.
I couldnt hardly get my foot into shifting position. There is hardly enough room between the shifter lever and the peg. The foot angle sucks also.
They are billet pegs so you cant even replace the usual 1.5" thick rubber peg with a billet one for more room.

The R1 was there, several on the floor in fact. I thought the ride position had more hand weight, "not good for me" but the pegs and shifter were excellent. Angle and spacing were great. It seemed the R1 either had a higher seat or lower bars than the 10r.

The 1000r honda was there also. Only one thou. And it was on a rotating raised display. How useless. Why even bring the bike at all.
I think honda is trying to handle this release very carefully. The nitwits at the display didnt have one single answer to about 6 questions i asked them. Nada. Not a clue in the world about this bike.
It leads me to believe honda is readying a "spectacular" release for this bike to makeup for its lack of style and performance. Its somthing they have become quite good at in the last several years with the 929 and 954.
You havent seen the last of Hondas propaganda machine in action with this bike. They will need a big hoo-haa to get this thing off the ground if they expect to sell these things. Somthing Honda is very capable of even if the bike cant do it on its own.

For the first time in a long, long time Kawasaki has the trump card. Listening tto the chatter of people around the 4 bikes (yea suzuki is still making the 1000) the kawi seems to be the trump card.

The r1 seems to be built like one of those transformer toys. Too many seperate pieces and covers and shields and parts and places to clean between. The M1 was there and looked impressive with its billet crankcase halves. almost every piece was machined from billet. RThe radiator flows around the other parts of the bike to maximize area yet fit all tucked in. It must have been a tedius task to make it. The chain is SMALL not nearly a 530.

The "Best Of Show" was clearly the Micron chick. I got a few shots of her with her Serpent pipe. She even knew a bit about the product. She was well versed in the development of the pipe and how it became a reality.

If someone has a place to host some pics I'll be glad to send some to post.

This years show was very crowded even for a friday. I think its because everyone took off friday because of the holiday. I hope they dont stay with this date in the future. The ESPN zone was mobbed as was most of midtown.

I ended up going and wasn't impressed.I asked the Kawasaki rep where the crash bobs went as it has the same style frame as the 12.He said that was for the aftermarket people. But I thought it was to compete with the other sportbikes?no answer. I also asked the buell people if there had been any talks about full fairing bike like the original?Didn't know.My last question went out to the painters, who are talented beyond belief,if they had ever seen a halogram used on a bike.Stumped them all.Nothing really new there unless you would consider the newer, faster, lighter models.I did enjoy talking with the cute hyper-pro who does her own stunts. When d real questions, the stunters as a group were still real down to earth.
