OOOPS!!!
I KNEW it didn't make sense...the power and torq "curve"...
Did a couple more pulls staring at the boost guage for the entire pull...
For some reason the boost is "creeping up" to 7-ish psi @ 9,000 rpm...WASN'T doing that before...no big deal I'll figure it out...
...After I take my NewYears RIDE!!!...

Still at 190+ HP and 120+ torq...gonna go up on the boost pretty soon
I'm working on a multi-stage boost controler for it first though
At stock WheelBase...it is WAY more than a handful to ride at this point...
1.80s 60Ft 6.80s 1/8 mile at 115+MPH doing SEVERAL wheelies all the way through 2nd gear
I made one run last tue. night where I somehow managed to get it to the rev limiter in 2nd...shifted 3rd and PowerWheelied ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE FINISH LINE!!! @ 121MPH...
MAN!!! that was FUNFunfun!!!
Ordering a rear sprocket and chain next week so I can go to the 4" over my swingarm will go to...
Haven't front strapped it yet either...

Great news, Kev. I think you made a great choice for a bike, well, if it was a green one it would be a little better. What kind of turbo does the Turbotec kit use? Can't wait to hear how fast you can make it go.

THANK'S folks!!! ...
UP...date!!!
I didn't order the chain yet and...after some gear/speed tests on the dyno I'm pretty sure the stock gearing is gonna stay for now but...I DID...order my AirShifter Kit from Spencer Cycle
I Red Labeled the leanest needles made in my configuration and just got done running her one the dyno...
STILL 11.3/1 RICH from 7 to 8K!!!
But the GOOD NEWS is...
I made three runs in a row at 200+HP...202 being the highest and how-bout...130.5 LBs?!?!?!
This was NOT with "good air"...it was/is still raining...I CAN'T believe I can't take her for a RIDE tonight
STILL HAPPY though...hows-a-bout 100+ torq from 4,600 ALL THE WAY THROUGH to...10,400!?!?!?
Rev limit is at 10.6 so...I'm thinkin that's pretty coool LOL
125+ from 5,200 to 7,000...
It will carry the 125+ higher than 7k when I finaly get it leaner than 11s to freekin one from 6,500 to 10,000!?!?!?
I have done some BIZZARRRRRR things to the carbs to get it to where I am now as it is...slides are STILL opening too-far-too-soon...even with the needles I just got/installed...
Factory Pro told me it would cost me $5 each for Custom Needles to my specs (not bad you say???)
FOR ONE HUNDRED NEEDLES!?!?!? $500 dollars for needle???
Gonna do some MORE custom machining to ANOTHER part in the carbs that will help me through the RICH middle RPMs instead...
NOT being easy to dial this puppy in but...it IS GETTING CLOSER...
krexken...
It's the Aerodyne Turbo...
They are only good to 15PSI but...
#1 It came with the bike when I bought it...
..2 Since I don't want to go over 14psi until I get turbo pistons this will be fine and FUN...
...3 My bike WILL BE FUEL INJECTED...later this year...can't wait for that but it all about the money thing...
I don't have my GPS mounted on the bike yet but...I have already had the speedo pegged a few times even though it was running STUPID RICH through the mid-range... LOL
GPS time now that I am getting closer
The bike is only geared for 177MPH...so the stock ignition will FOR SURE be my speed limit...for now...
Since the ZRX does NOT handle ANYTHING like a ZX12...you can believe me when I tell you...150+ "feels" EXTREEEMMM-LEE FAST on this puppy...
(I know you already knew that krex...)...

Be careful with that Aerodyne unit.Round 225HP you will be real close to overspeeding it and burning it up.Aerodyne isnt making turbos as of right now so if you burn it up you are screwed.

Im sure Kevin has a handle on it.
Saw the bike last night for the first time! Gotta say... him and ZRXDean are gonna have to do battle for the fastest now.... because they both have a "tie" on 1st place ...for the purdiest looking Rexes! :thumbs up:
We didnt get to ride far... but when he went by.... it sure sounded nice!
I sure would like to see the faces of some Busa or Zx12 owners after rolling on with him!

MORE good news!!!
FIRST...Thank's for the ThumbsUp TurboBlew
Coming from you??? I take that as a BigThumbsUp!!!
Now...
I just did a couple more pulls with what I was told was Max Rated Boost for this turbo...NOT on purpose though...
I was hoping for 14PSI with the jet I installed to raise the boost but...it ended up making 15psi and made me VERY happy when She pulled 227HP and... 150.5 torq LOL...
What makes this SOooo wonderful (to me) is the fact that...I have STILL not been able to get the A/F as lean as it should be from 7K through to 10K and...considering the fact that the MaxTorq IS AT ABOUT 7K!?!?!
I was VERY surprised/ HAPPY
Gonna go down on the jet/boost to just below 14psi...
Now I NEEED to install MY 2-stage boost controler because 250ish torq is a bit high for my curent Chassis SetUp...before 3rd gear anyway
Floyd...Thank you for the HeadsUp
I got it a bit late for tonights runs but...already knew
My plan/hope from the beginning was to get 220 and 150 blowing through the stock carbs...I honestly didn't think I would make it tonight because of my jetting (NEEDLES) problem (and wasn't trying for 15psi either)...
Thank's again DogPhucker...it was just too long of a work day for me to Dine THEN ride anymore
Don't think I'll have to twist yer arm too hard to ride/spool her up next time we ride eh???

Kevin
I'm still toying with the thought of doing a Turbo ZRX. Had a couple more questions for ya.
Is this all the TurboTec kit comes with?? http://www.turbotecusa.com/ZRX.html It doesn't use any type of rising rate fuel pressure regulator?? Looks like a REALLY simple kit. Also, when you change boost settings, do you have to do a lot of carburetor adjustments (pull needles, change jets, etc.)?
One more thing.....do you know if Turbo Tec is using Garret turbos in their kits now that Aerodyne no longer makes them?
Thanks for the help.

Kevin When I raced and saw the "S-1" and rode a Z1-R I liked the Eddie Lawson Rep, but when they came out with the ZRX, I loved it specially the tube Swingarm like the Old S-1. The question is, am I going to sell Peggy's 2000 - 250 Ninja with 2,500 miles and buy one or keep her bike also? I want mine in Green of Course and if it got to be too slow, I was coming to talk to you about a Turbo! I Want one I WANT ONE!

Eric I'd give Kevin a call at SM2W 904 389-1177, he doesn't frequent the boards that often these days.
The kit uses a Malpassi boost-ref regulator, but needs a pitot tube for the fuel bowls to run best. He can set you up.
