OT - the ultimate military weapons?
One of them can "pop off a few" at the rate of close to 17,000 rounds per SECOND! Basically, a MILLION rounds per minute.

But, unless I missed something, it looks like they've actually fired only 15 rounds at that rate.
Or at a slower rate, they've fired 46 rounds.
The rate is impressive but the total amount of rounds delivered certainly isn't. It sounds like they're some distance from having anything, if ever. Hope they do, it would be cool!

keep in mind it's firing grenades, not bullets. unless i'm looking at the wrong weapon. pretty big destruction potential at 4000rpm worth of grenades. we just find better n better ways of killin people eh? :|

You gotta hunt around on the site to find the demos of the higher rates of fire. Since even the larger units don't hold that many rounds, all you hear is brief "braaap" and the thing just blipped off 400 or so of the smaller rounds.
The "speed thing" is what really gets me all worked up... it the selective targeting of their "Area Denial Weapons System". Go to "Video" and scroll down to the "Area Denial Weapons System". I consider it to be the "Ultimate Burglar Deterrent". Imagine a more compact version for your bike.
I could see it now. A signal is sent to your PDA that something is approaching your bike. You active a visual monitor to determine if a threat is immanent. After the situation is assessed, you determine the proper response. Someone trying to steal your bike? An anti-personnel device could be utilized. A Lexus is about to back into your scoot? Maybe an anti-tank round would be the preferred method of neutralizing the threat. Someone's family pet about to piss on your tire? A "flash bang" might be sufficient.
