Who wants a track day in Jamaica?

Christ, can't believe a week has already gone by. Went Diving 3x a day. Weather was phenom. Hell, the only time I put on a shirt & sandals was for dinnner! Otherwise, it's swim trunks all day & night!

Anyway, visited the local race track. After some bullshiting about my background, they've offered me carte-blanche on doing some track days with both motorcycles & cars. Gee, wonder if I can get Ben, Miguel,& Jake to come down with me to put on a clinic. How bout it knuckle draggers... Oops, I mean knee draggers? Yea mon!

I'm gonna work on it. There are several tracks. Some set up as Pro Solo type stuff (big open spaces with tires marking the track layout). Other is a "real track". The site below shows some shots of one of the real tracks. I'd best describe it as, not for the faint of heart. For me, it would work. I grew up racing on the street (not a good idea), then began racing at extremely chewed up and dangerous tracks like the early Sears Point, Laconia, Laguna Seca, etc. The track is a little chewed up, but raceable. But you don't want to run off. Honestly, the fastest bike might be a SuperMotard setup. And it would be easy to ship one down there. Next time I go (in March), I might ship my YZ450 & a CRF450 down there to check it out. Then next time, bring down the 10, 12 or RC51. The fastest bikes are R6, CBR. I think a Motard would eat them up.

necro - don't know the web info. Kinda doubt there is one... I'll look into it more shortly. I believe the track was just under 2 miles long. Lap times I believe were in the 1:25 or so range. I believe at one track, the record is held by an R6. They race in any & all conditions. The one track is not really motorcycle friendly, in that there is lots of Armco. They sometimes throw some tires in front of them. You'll want to kiss your loved ones goodbye if you plan on a WFO attack plan. But if you use restraint, it's got a high fun factor. I mean, my god, you're racing or doing a track day in Jamaica! Too cool.

I must respectfully disqualify myself. Having "won" the "pit pass" for the AMA event at Barber (that Jonathan got anyway... he should be out too! ), it would not be fair for me to "enter" this contest as well.

NOW, for the real reasons:

1. Even Honda can not afford to let Ben, Miguel & Jake stay in Jamaica long enough to hold a "clinic' that I would learn enough to turn lap times under THREE MINUTES!

2. I can not afford a Southwest "Super Saver" fare from Little Rock to Dallas (one way - 90 days in advance), much less, one to Kingston.

3. Hotels.com does not have any "hotel" rooms available in Jamaica for under $29.95 a night.

4. Thier fast food places are not currently running any "Dollar Menu" specials.

... and for anyone who actually gets a chance to go (excluding you, Mr. Bryant - of course)...

I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU!

Did I remember to say.... I HATE YOU?

HEY ELK! You little bitch! Stop whining before I come over there and ram a garden rake up yer ass you boot lickin chicken choker.

Now....

*ahem*

Mr. Bryant, I'd be very pleased to attend any soiree in Jamaica that you would assemble. I promise I'd be on my best behavior. *fingers crossed*

And shifter karts would be the shiznit. Got any with 250cc engines?

Just make sure to do this in the winter so my Boston compatriots can get maximum envy.

Oh - and I called Boz and Miggy. They're in. But they say we gotta do it on the sly between testing sessions - preferably around New Years.

Once I get this sorted out & confirmed, I see a contest coming up for one lucky indivitual to participate all expenses paid. But if you're not a fast guy capable of not jumping off and hurting yourself, you'd have to be one hell of an ambassidor for the sport to make up for your lack of speed.

Oh, and BBoz & Miguel are not in. They're doing tire testing around New Years on the new 1000's.....

Speaking of racing, the new FX600 is getting around the racetrack @ frighting speeds. The corner speed alone is unbelievable. We're now moving onto Daytona for tire testing. Would not be surprised to see sub 50 times on these pocket rockets. Miguel is very happy right now....

I could go, but I'd be classified as the "most passed" for sure! My track experience is limited to a couple of track days and Reg's school... I'm just some slacker from the internet!

Dino would be a good candidate

He's fast on the road and he should be on the track but he refuses to go on the track... He SHOULDNT be on the road.. he SHOULD be on the track (how many times have I told you this Dino?? )

There ya have it...

I'd love to come along and hang out, but I'd be a sorry embarrassment on the racetrack... I'm a group B/A rider.. not a straight group A... every now and then I scare myself too much and slow myself back down to group b.. .does that make any sense?
