1317 muzzy kit. a few questions?
i'm tearing down my top engine next month sometime for sure.
but i am skeptical on a few things:
I'm seriously thinking hard on the 1317 from muzzy but is it worth the extra $$,than the 1270?
why is the price so high for 47 more cc's.
no core right?
what else is needed to do just the top end.
i dont wanna split cases.
port heads?,valve spring kit?,oversize valves.etc,,,
i have a buddy doing the work for me.
would it be cheaper in this case to bore my own block and buy some je pistons?
any help would be appreciated.

Might want to search it, this has been addressed many times by myself as well as alot of others. Not trying to sound like a smart ass, but the last time I posted a question about this, thats what I was told to do. And there is alot of info that will come up.
I decided to go with the 1317 only because with the guy thats doing my work its cheaper. If I could, I would go with a stroker !

For the $$ stroke the motor. 1375 kit.
Personally i have the 1320cc. I am not sure that i would use a billet with only cruising in mind. Your heat personality will change with the billet.
What are you trying to accomplish??

The 1317 is a billet block allready bored ready for the supplied pistons. I just noticed on Muzzy's site the new version of the 1317 kit DOES NOT require splitting the engine cases. I guess it must be a little more tidy as to fit inside the stock holes on the upper case and does not require any grinding to fit. I was gonna go with the 1317 instead of the 1270 but couldn't sell my NIB 1270 kit. The price, well thats because it allready has everything you need. New block, pistons, pins, gaskets, circlips etc. Its just not a piston kit like the 1270..
