A confession.... I still have the...
parachute on my bike. Yes... yes.. I know, it is the ugliest thing ever designed my Kawasaki. Since I have had the 'chute on my bike since it was purchased in 2000... (ouch) I've been checking out the various types of hugger/undertail combos. Since I don't really get a chance to see many of the undertails up close (I'm the only '12 owner I know) I figured I'd ask you guys that have seen some of the different kinds... what type to you recommend and why? I'm concerned with:
1. Quality
2. Fit
3. Finish
4. Overall good looks
I would like to keep a single rear brakelight if that is a possability - so... lets here it - what do you guys likE?

Dremel, a sheet of plastic and a lil time. "Parachute" gone pronto. Buy a tail light integrator and it will be super clean.
BTW...I built a new undertail with the sheet plastic when my bike was stretched. Didn't take long at all!

Yeap! Tail light integrator for sure.
They do make various color matched undertails that really clean it up. I had one that looked super nice.....cost about $200 and I shredded the fiberglass at the track...
Cheapest = Drummel + tail light integrator
Street = Color matched undertail + tail light integrator
Drag Race = Tiger Tail + tail light integrator

Here is the one that I had....FMSD

http://www.extremegraphicfsmd.com/indexeng.htm
Part # & Prices:
UB-ZX12R: Unpainted 179$US *
UP-ZX12R: Painted color match 199$US *
The dual tail light is just a cover. I did not buy that part.
The only complaint that I had about it was that.....I did not want the tail light cover on so the bottom lip that meets the tail light was a little visible. This bottom lip (underside...not normally visible) is just raw fiberglass. You could see a little of this non-finished surface if you were right up on the back of the bike.
I bought mine in 2001 from HP Mike. FSMD may have improved them by now for the folks that did not want to cover the tail light..

graphicartmotodesign.com
this is where I got mine, I love it, looks good, and was easy to put on, came with very good instructions.
I know that there are a few other guys on here that run the same undertail that I do....this has the best fit and finish that I could find at a reasonable price....JMO

I think I'm going with the HDL solution - any thoughts on a nice hugger? I'm not sure I'd want to go with green or black for the hugger... thoughts?

Hey - I have another question... if I go with the graphicartmotodesign model, it seems to come with integrated flush mount rear turn signals... anyone have a site that can point me to some flushmounts for the front that might match these rear lights?

I'll take a pic of my front lights. If you like those, I can get them in clear. I think they are only like $16.

Hans hugger extends down below the swingarm to protect the shock from debris - very good quality.
Just be prepared ta wait for it when ya order from Hans.

the blinkers look clear on the undertail, but flash Red...I have an integrator wired in mine so when I squeze the brake I get 4 lights to glow, and if you throw a blinker on, you get 2 lights on one side to glow. I used some LP flush mounts on the front of my bike and the blinkers all flash at regular speed.....I havent seen and LED flush mounts yet, but I bet that is something Dino could work.....maybe a few of you handy types on here as well......
As far as a hugger goes, I am running a Targa C/F Hugger, adn like it very much, it fit perfect, and looks very good. I have had a lot of people compliment the hugger and undertail combination.....before the painter fuked the bike up that is.....

I think I like the graphicartmotodesign.com the best; it's too bad they just didn't add 2 more LED's to each signal at each end (to make an arrow), as I'm sure those signals would confuse some drivers. Even better, make them squence the lights from the inside to the outside....right or left during signaling...? A better indicator of intent maybe? Just a thought...
I need to get rid of my "chute" too.....
BTW, had the FSD hugger on 3.5 years now, & it's cheap-shite paint. Every rock chips it, & Color=rite paint doesn't quite match....I wanna paint & clear the hell out of it...
