Muzzy Basket and Clutch

Well, I FINALLY had a chance to take my baby out today and try out the new basket/clutch combo from Muzzy - I gotta say WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!! It is AMAZING. Here are the advantages over the stock package:

1. Quieter at idle
2. SMOOOOOOOOTH
3. Makes me more confident to "ride the clutch a bit" to loft my front wheel at slower speeds than through the "brute force power" method (this is a GOOD thing - power wheelieing the '12 can be SCARY ).

I recommend it to ANYONE even considering the upgrade. It really isn't too hard to install, even for an idiot wrencher like me. For new wrenchers, you can check out some of the past threads that I wrote in with install questions - there are some GREAT suggestions from people on the board, and some links to full picture representation of each step. One word of advice - GET THE SHOP MANUAL AND READ IT FIRST. I think my major mistake was to start the project without the shop manual - I missed some picture representations and detail that really is important to know. I also have to say, after installing and tearing the clutch down about 4 times (just to make sure I had EVERYTHING done right), you can get the process down to about 25 minutes (from the removal of the clutch cover all the way through the re-installation of it). First time through took me about 2 hours tho - and I got LOTS of oil on my poor shop laptop as I check out the pix on Spensor Cycles site (link is http://prosites-spencercycle.homestead.com/MuzzyClutchInstall.html )

I'm thinking about the Muzzy stearing damper (now that I may be lofting the front more...), wave rotor and racing brake pads next....

Congrats on finally finishing, DP. The Muzzy damper should be a lot easier to install.
