There is very sad news from the Bend, Oregon part of the country today. Billy Oliver has succumbed to cancer.
While not a name known to all racing enthusiasts, Oliver was well known in the racing family as he was Doug Chandler's mechanic in 1989 and 1990 while at Kawasaki, and he worked with Wayne Rainey and many other riders before that.
Oliver was Rob Muzzy's step-son and son of Muzzy's wife, Ruby.
A great dirt track racer, Oliver was a multi-time amateur dirt track champion.
And he was one of Rob Muzzy's first riders once Muzzy stopped riding and started tuning.
