Nutec race fuel?????

While all you lucky "yankees" are up north enjoying sleigh rides and eggnog, us poor southern hillbillys are down here hard at work testing various set ups for you at the drag track. Week-in, week-out, we are working for you!

In order to test Nutec (for you), could someone give me a heads up to start me off.

Q: what sort of peak hp gain should I expect on my 1361?

Q: need to change map?

Q: do I really need to drain all of it out during the week between track testing sessions?

Q: where to get it?

here are some answers

Josh at Nutec called me. I sent an email from their website but really didn't expect an answer. Voila! Josh called and gave the specifics.

1. Nutec has a Houston warehouse, pick it up and save $30 delivery.

2. price: $70/5gal can, $200/15 gal can

3. up to approx 8-9 hp gain for a 13:1, 1360cc engine

4. modify fuel map approx 5% richer, maintain 13.2 A/F more or less

5. retard timing 2degrees, approx. (I think he meant to retard timing 2 degrees off what I was running, NOT to set timing to 2 degrees retarded)

6. better to drain nutec out of tank and store in its propper can; slows deterioration of nutec.

7. run pump gas thru bike every couple weeks to clean deposits off valves? Pump gas acts as a detergent.

Nutec

I talked to a guy in KC missouri that owns a dyno and personally tested it. He dynoed his GSXR 1000 then drained the tank not removing it from dyno. Put in Nutec and ran it long enough to get it in the system. Then he dynoed it again. It was an 8 horsepower gain over the other fuel... Also had another buddy in Mississippi do the same on a GSXR 750 Roadrace bike he gained 5 horse on 750. In no way did either of these guys try to sell me Nutec. Just told me the results. I also don't sell Nutec but I am a believer......

You will also get 2-4 hp difference between new nutec and nutec that has been open before. Never let nutec sit over night in your bike.

ZX12 Richard, do you live in MO? Let's ride some time if you do.
